Customizing the Windows 11 Context Menu - What Worked Today

(This should be in Tutorials, but maybe I'm too new to post there ...?)

Following the suggestion in this thread, more or less, it was possible to remove Edit with Paint and other entries at the bottom of context menus:

1. In Regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions
2. If there is no subkey Blocked, create one.
3. Create a string value in Blocked named {2430F218-B743-4FD6-97BF-5C76541B4AE9}. The value of the thread doesn't seem to matter, but I put in "Edit with Paint" to make it clear what was going on.

Poking around, I located the mystery value {2430F218-B743-4FD6-97BF-5C76541B4AE9} for Paint at Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PackagedCom\ClassIndex, along with lots of others.

The key for Notepad is {CA6CC9F1-867A-481E-951E-A28C5E4F01EA}, and I blocked Edit in Notepad using that key and the steps above.

I didn't try any others, but there were two keys for:

• Terminal - {E12CFF52-A866-4C77-9A90-F570A7AA2C6B} and {9F156763-7844-4DC4-B2B1-901F640F5155}
• Photos {CD349BB6-A2BC-47ED-874F-7185ABA53BD4} or {BFE0E2A4-C70C-4AD7-AC3D-10D1ECEBB5B4}

I also added a context menu entry Edit with Photoshop using Custom Context Menu in the Microsoft Store. It costs $0.99; if you're broke there's a free trial version. It's sweet.

There's a development site at Github that looks like it extends Custom Context Menu. I haven't tried it, but maybe someone else can let us know what it adds.

I still want to remove and reorder entries in the Open With menu, but this post didn't work for me. Does anyone know what does?
