I just saw this movie and I really liked it! Is it gonna change the way we see superhero movies? No but it was a solid good time at the movies I would see it again! My real question is can we end the hyperbole era of media discourse? I hate that things can’t just be solid fun anymore.
Personally I walked away from the church in my late teens. As an old whyte guy seeing the principal actress say that offending Christian dads (the right people) is a good thing made me pause. Why watch something or spend money on a product made by people who outright show disdain for their audience?
If you're an atheist or follow a different religion it's whatever. I don't want to get into a long discussion about if there's a God or which religion is correct.
I'm just tired of the disrespect or outright mocking I see for Christianity and it's followers.
Just saw Supergirl. That was honestly better than most MCU movies. It was fun, good action, there was character development, and it had a good moral. AND it was better than its source material because we didn’t have to listen to Ruthye’s unnecessary internal monologue throughout.
I don’t know how anyone saw that and thought it was mid.
If you didn’t like it, then fine. But Supergirl is a solid summer movie. We need to set a benchmark for the word “mid.”
Mid should be that one Jason Statham movie that gets released every year. Like “Shelter”, or last year’s “A Working Man.” Movies that kind of suck, but we’ve been asking for “classic” action movies for so long, that we’re too embarrassed to admit they just suck and call them “mid” to save face.
