Does that mean there were as many as 100 attacks comparable to Nanjing?
The army that attacked China ignored the Japanese government’s repeated ceasefire orders and expanded the fighting on its own.
Yet it wasn’t even a deliberate, planned attack like Dresden or the atomic bombs, was it?
China didn’t even have the power to push Japan back anyway, and the China theater wasn’t even a priority compared to the Pacific and Southeast Asia fronts, was it?

No. Japan did commit evil deeds.
But while Japan and Germany are evil, the other countries haven’t apologized or paid reparations at all.
The Allied powers act as if they were the righteous nations that defeated the evil empires.
In reality, even Germany hasn’t apologized or paid reparations to non-white countries.

Employment isn’t being maintained. Even if you say it can be maintained, it’s only for the people who are already employed. Look at the youth unemployment rate.
People can’t even get married or have kids.
This kind of thing can’t go on forever, and eventually there will be a backlash.

Everyone is just too scared to defy the great Party Secretary’s production plans.
It’s better not to copy this kind of approach.
By flooding the market with cheap products, neighboring countries also fail to become prosperous, while China’s own domestic demand remains weak.
Ten percent of university graduates can’t find jobs, and more than twenty percent end up in non-regular employment. The number of births is also plummeting.

East Asians and Southeast Asians were not Japan’s enemies at the time. Except for the Chinese.
Japan turned East Asia and Southeast Asia into a “game board.” The Allies did the same.
There were also local people who cooperated with the Japanese military at the time, and the Allied side involved them and ordinary civilians as well.
After the occupying Japan lost and withdrew, leaving Southeast Asian countries as “blank” nations, didn’t they attack the local people who resisted by asserting their own territorial claims?
I won’t deliberately exaggerate it by calling it a “massacre,” though.

Recently, in America and Europe, the right wing is rising and xenophobia is spreading.
That might be God’s trial for the sins that couldn’t be judged by human law because they were the victorious nations?
For South Asians, Muslims, and Africans, white nations are not necessarily role models of prosperity.

In Rwanda, it might have spread across the entire country and more than 10 million people might have done it.
The troops that invaded Nanjing were at most several tens of thousands, I suppose.

The war started in 1937.
If, in those 8 years, the kill ratio per Japanese soldier could greatly exceed 80 American soldier-years’ worth, then Japan wouldn’t have lost that war.

The victorious countries of World War II also committed war crimes, and under imperialism they invaded on a far larger scale and for a much longer period than Japan.
Yet since 1945 and right up to today they’ve continued waging wars — but they haven’t been reaped, huh.

Can an army really kill 200,000 or 300,000 or even 400,000 people in just two months without using any modern weapons?
Brutality cannot justify the scale.

Victors’ genocide is good genocide.

Defeated countries’ genocide is bad genocide.

Atrocities under the imperialism of victorious nations are downplayed and largely forgotten.

War crimes do not exist for victorious nations.

Rise in Cosmetic Surgery

  1. Female influencers acting like pimps are aggressively promoting lookism.

  2. Gender equality policies have increased the number of female doctors, yet many are channeling into cosmetic medicine instead.

Debt and Mental Health Issues
3. Mishandling of the host club problem.
Proper careers require years of experience before you can earn a decent income, so young people struggle financially.
Meanwhile, in the porn industry, top performers have virtually unlimited earning potential.

One factor is the weakening of the yen, but a more significant cause is the success of feminism in embedding the social norm that “buying sex is lame” into mainstream society.

The sex industry suffered a severe blow during the COVID-19 pandemic, and even after the pandemic ended, demand has not recovered.
Another contributing factor is the misguided response to the host club issue (i.e., women buying services from male hosts).

Is the only thing people know about Japan’s problems the weak yen and its 250% debt-to-GDP ratio?

Social security benefit expenditures — mainly pensions, living expenses, and medical costs for the elderly — already amount to 140 trillion yen. This is projected to balloon to 190 trillion yen by 2040. For context, Japan’s total tax revenue currently stands at just 78 trillion yen.

Moreover, 70% of all municipalities in Japan have populations of less than 50,000.

Once a municipality’s population drops below 50,000, administrative costs per resident rise sharply. This is also the threshold at which grocery stores, medical clinics, and schools can barely sustain themselves on a purely private, commercial basis.

Below that level, businesses enter a zone where they cannot survive without subsidies or public funds. When the population falls below 30,000, the withdrawal of commercial infrastructure essential for daily life accelerates rapidly.

Once the population drops below 10,000, the municipality loses fiscal independence. It becomes impossible to operate the local government using own-source revenue alone. Without financial support from the national government or the prefecture, even paying public employees’ salaries or maintaining roads becomes unfeasible.

The people living in Hokkaido only began to be called “Ainu” from the 13th century onward. It is little known that the Japanese had already been referring to the inhabitants of Hokkaido as “Mishihase” (みしはせ) or “Ashihase” (あしはせ) since the 7th century.

The idea that we once possessed a prosperous ancient civilization distinct from China’s, only for it to be lost after being conquered by China, is a misconception. Japan consists of more than 10,000 islands, which made centralization inherently slow from the outset. Even its main islands are dominated by mountain ranges rising over 3,000 meters, with roughly 70% of the land covered in forests. While this geography did not completely fragment the civilization, it made it highly prone to division. As a result, these geographical conditions significantly delayed the development of civilization itself.

Kurushima Michifusa was young for a commander, a daimyo with only a small domain, and held a relatively low status even within Japan.
The story of defeating 133 ships with just 13 at the Battle of Myeongnyang is also questionable. In reality, the number of Japanese ships was likely much smaller. If there truly were 133 enemy ships, Japan’s overall naval strength would have been far larger. In any case, it would have been physically impossible to defend the waters between the Japanese archipelago and the Korean Peninsula with only 13 ships. Therefore, the claim that command of the sea passed to the Korean side is incorrect.

Overseas expansion was impossible for 16th-century Japan, and there was no such intention or will either.
First, Japan did not possess ships capable of sailing into the open ocean like those of Europe. They lacked the navigational technology and know-how to mobilize large armies beyond coastal waters.
It was the most chaotic and violent period of civil war in Japanese history. Even after Tokugawa Ieyasu unified the country, rival factions still retained significant power.
What appeared from the outside as Japan’s stagnation was actually the result of a deliberate focus on peacefully weakening and neutralizing the power of these domestic rivals.
In addition, growing friction with the spread of Christianity within Japan, awareness of countries that had been invaded and colonized by European powers, and the fact that Japanese people were being abducted and sold into slavery by missionaries all led Japan to view Europe as a dangerous threat.

This is because Yi Sun-sin’s battles and achievements have been greatly exaggerated.
First of all, Kurushima Michifusa, who fought in the Battle of Myeongnyang, was not the supreme commander of the Japanese forces. In 1597, he was only 37 years old, and his domain in Iyo Province (present-day Ehime Prefecture) was a small fief of just 70,000 koku (with a food production capacity capable of supporting 70,000 adult men).
When he was sent to the Korean Peninsula in 1592 (during the initial invasion), he mobilized only 800 men.
Even after Kurushima was killed in the Battle of Myeongnyang, his younger brother took over and continued the fighting.
