Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters is a free to play version released on 3 October 2016 featuring fully playable single player (Story Mode is not included) and online fights. The roster is limited to four characters: Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa.

The rest of the game can optionally be purchased in form of DLCs except Mai Shiranui whose DLC was removed on 2019/09/11 due to license expiration[1]:

Because of Xbox controller support being implemented in DirectInput, Xbox One/Series controllers and certain nonstandard Xbox 360 controllers have controls mapped to different buttons than what is indicated by the game (e.g., Start is mapped to R3).
Load Steam Input profile with controller fix
  1. Open up the Steam Input settings for the game and if not already enabled, turn on Steam Input for the game.
  2. Open the Controller Configurator for the game and click on the button displaying the current controller layout profile.
  3. In the Load New Layout menu, search for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round の公式設定 (RStick fix) and apply the layout.
  4. Close the Controller Configurator.

XInput PlusLink

Add XInput/Xbox controller support using XInput Plus[7]
  1. Download XInput Plus.
  2. Run XInput Plus as Administrator, click Select beside Target Program and select game.exe.
  3. Go to the DirectInput tab and tick the Enable DirectInput Output.
  4. Click Customize then set the following:
    Right Stick-X -> Z_Axis
    Right Stick-Y -> Z_Rot
    Left Trigger -> Button7
    Right Trigger -> Button8
    BACK -> Button9
    START -> Button10
    LS Button -> Button11
    RS Button -> Button12
    Guide -> Button13
    
  5. OPTIONAL: Click Setting tab then go to Others tab and disable the Enable Init Beep.
  6. Click on Apply button, confirm everything and close XInput Plus. New files will appear in the game folder.
  7. Run the game to test the controls.
