We are commanded to love all: all the men, all the women; all the Protestants, all the Orthodox, all the Catholics; all the Jews, all the Muslims; all the straights, all the gays; all the normies, all the weirdos; all the Hindus, all the Buddhists; all the poor, all the rich; all the Asians, all the Africans; all the sane, all the insane; all the heretics, all the criminals, even all the satanists.
We love them not for but despite their false beliefs and their sins. We love them because they are created in the image of God, and all life, especially all *human* life, is precious.
We can love them while hoping they find Christ. We can love them while hoping they find their way out of the traps of pride and serious, unrepentant sin. We can love them if they are very different from us. We can love them even if they hate us.
We love them because God first loved us. God wants to show us mercy if we will only abandon our sin, take up our cross, and follow him. When he hear his call properly, we follow him, and we grasp that he cherishes us all and wants to save us all. And we are called to imitate his perfect love and do what we can to help him save all our brothers and sisters.
