“Above is a fictional weather forecast for August 18, 2050, broadcast by French television in 2014, intended to warn against the disastrous consequences of global warming.

Below is the weather forecast for June 22, 2026.”

This brings out super starkly how has accelerated so much more quickly than we thought even just 12 years ago.

Here’s a thought on the current heatwave that is absolutely destroying humankind across Europe atm: maybe we should push for a regulation to allow people — ALL people — to stop working in temperatures above 30C. The economy would collapse and finally politicians would take fighting the climate crisis as a priority, rather than leaning into the bullshit narrative that “summer is summer” from their air-conditioned ivory towers.

To my northern neighbours suffering from the current heat wave.

I lived in approx 38C with 90% humidity for 20 years, and I have a few pieces of advice.

1. Don't do anything fast that you can do slow.
2. Umbrellas aren't just for rain. They work for sun, too.
3. Sweat is your friend. Drink lots of liquid, eat and drink things that trigger sweating.

4. Cold showers and baths trigger your body to warm up. Room temp showers work best - and don't bother drying off.

Next Monday, the EU decides on Chat Control 1.0. Will they let the Trojan Horse through the gate and let Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn etc continue to scan all your messages?

We at Tuta say NO.

❌ No scanning
❌ No mass surveillance
❌ No age verification

Instead we fight for:

✅ Encryption
✅ Privacy
✅ Open Source

And so should the EU. Call your local representatives! 🥊

Privacy is not negotiable. Speak up now. ✊
