NOTES
Last normal update till this year’s Summer update in a few weeks! You can read all about the mastery system and other notable additions below:

Weapon Mastery
The main attraction of this update, we now have a weapon mastery system! This is intended to be some late-game progression for the players who’ve already reached the max level and are looking for something to work towards. Every weapon in the game now tracks the amount of kills you have on it (other stat on some) and reaching that weapon’s max kills will reward you with a Diamond skin for it.
Go through the long task of mastering EVERY weapon, and your efforts will be rewarded with the Blood Diamond skin for all weapons and the Capos as a skin set. Both the Diamond and Blood Diamond skins come with a special kill effect where what you kill with said weapon will turn it into a statue.
This is a big time sink, so don’t go in expecting you’ll clear everything in one night! If you’re going for 100%, it’s for the most dedicated players. You can track your progress in the updated Contracts menu, as that’s been given a page dedicated to weapon mastery. You’ll also be notified of progress you make at the end of a wave and if you successfully master a weapon.
Lastly, since we had to update nearly every weapon’s UV map, we went ahead and expanded the Gold skins to be on EVERY weapon which you’ll automatically get if you own the Valued Contractor gamepass. In the case of the Deagle’s gold skin, we added a new gold variant called Justice to replace the one that was previously in Highway’s prize pool. If you had the old Golden Deagle, you’ll automatically receive the new one!
Thundergun
New to this update is the Thundergun, an alternate offensive primary for Medic! For those who keep up to date with previews, you may have thought this was going to be a Gunslinger primary at first which is true. I originally intended this to be an explosive headshot weapon for Gunslinger, though after I demo’d it I realized what monster I had created. Learned the hard way to not give that class any explosives, so it was back to the drawing board.
Eventually, we came up with what we have here which is Medic’s very first item that’s capable of providing attack buffs to your teammates. Upon hitting a headshot with this thing, not only will it deal a nice chunk of damage, it’ll also cause a lightning bolt to strike you which’ll briefly buff you and the teammates surrounding you. You’ll all get a damage increase, higher fire rate, and lastly your bullets will inflict the new Jolted status effect. It’s basically just a very quick n’ low damage DOT effect.
This weapon is very experimental, so please let me know what you guys think as you get the chance to play with it. From my testing, I found it gets absolutely crazy with certain perk combinations tho is still solid on it’s own. If ya think it sucks or is too insane jamie, I’ll make adjustments next update.
New Perks
This update we got some pretty crazy ones! They go as follows:
- Tunnel Vision - Brings back hitscan bullets on all snipers. The catch is that your scope zoom is CRAZY high and that your crit damage is lower. You’ll need to combine it with some other perks to offset the downsides.
- Newton’s Trick - Removes gravity from ALL projectiles.
- Dangersense - Alerts you when you’re being shot at.
- Concentration - Small spread bonus while crouching in place.
- Insurance - Keep your EXP upon death!
Both Tunnel Vision and Newton’s Trick are some wacky ones, though I guarantee those who’ve played before the campaign update are probably looking at me in SHOCK right now. You’re probably all like, HUH? You brought WHAT back? And listen… I get it… I’m pretty crazy for bringing this god tier ability back.
That said, the ability to have hitscan is now locked behind a D.T.T Select tier perk that you’re not always guaranteed to get juxtaposed to ye olden days where you were able to pop hitscan bullets out the box. It was a fun wacky idea I had, so given that it only starts showing up in the late game and isn’t even 100% guaranteed someone will get it within a run, I’m willing to let it ride! If it ends up sucking out all the fun out of the game, consider it gone next update. Perks are disposable, so if an idea don’t pan out, I ain’t got no problem canning it.
