Naoki Hamaguchi says there's a scene that's pretty essential to the story of FFVII, where Cloud has a moment of introspection and discovers his identity and how it fits in with Zack and Aerith. He says he's beaten Revelation about 40 times and that scene made him cry every time. (omelete, 6/17)
Naoki Hamaguchi says that some people might connect the title FFVII Revelation with Christian [mythology], but from their point of view, it was more about revealing all these unanswered questions that the fans may have with Remake and Rebirth. (Gameinformer, 6/17)

Naoki Hamaguchi says the central theme of FFVII Revelation is "Resolve." However, when asked if Resolve was considered as the title he said, "The central theme being 'Resolve,' and it being a word that starts with R-E, that's just a coincidence. "It wasn't really a candidate for our title."

FFVII Revelation Director Hamaguchi says you'll be able to customize the Highwind's interior and design as you explore the world map. They're different from character skins and won't change things like exterior paint, but there's a feature that allows you to modify the decor. (Famitsu, 6/9)

FFVII Revelation Director Hamaguchi confirms Cloud will be able to pull of tricks in the snowboarding minigame. It will offer more depth and variety than its OG counterpart, as well as amusing character-specific animations akin to Red XIII's chocobo riding and Vincent's coffin dive. (Famitsu 6/9)

FFVII Revelation Director Hamaguchi says if there's a strong enough demand from players after the game's release, they'd like to explore ways to address requests for content that went undepicted or things people want more detail about, including stuff from previous spinoff games. [1/2] (Famitsu 6/9)
However, he says FFVII Revelation is meant to wrap things up. [2/2]

Asked if there will still be room after FFVII Revelation to speculate about the new mysteries introduced, Hamaguchi says he wonders. He thinks even if the creators give answers that seem clear to them, there will still be people who wish they'd dug into certain things a bit more. [1/2] (Famitsu 6/9)
Ultimately, he'd love for everyone to play the game and judge for themselves if all those mysteries were resolved. But as a creator, he feels like they've successfully taken what they wanted to depict and communicate to fans in the third game and put it into a cohesive package. [2/2] (Famitsu, 6/9)

Asked if fans can look forward optimistically to Aerith's fate and role in FFVII Revelation, Director Hamaguchi says it's tricky, because if he says "be optimistic," it might sound like he's guaranteeing the story will finish with a happy ending. [1/2] (Famitsu, 6/9)
Rather than saying the story is this or that, he wants to focus on making a game where fans who've been rooting for these characters will finish this final chapter and think to themselves, "I'm so glad I kept with these characters to the end." [2/2] (Famitsu, 6/9)

Director Naoki Hamaguchi says that he wouldn't say Cid is necessarily a mean-spirited character, per se in FFVII Revelation. He thinks he's a straight shooter - he says what he thinks and feels, but I think he also has, very much of a warmth as a human being. (Restart.run, 6/8)

Hamaguchi says they use Zack to convey the world and workings of the FF7R series, and how they slightly differ from the OG's. With the last game, they illustrated this concept that there are multiple timelines, but to communicate that directly through words would take away a lot of the allure [1/2]
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Director Naoki Hamaguchi says the battle members are confined to just the main cast. That said, just like in the previous game, they've prepared story sections at key points where Zack appears or other guests join in as playable characters. (denfaminico, 6/7)
