When has reading the previous run EVER been a requirement for Western comics? Quit asking these stalling questions.

if I decided to jump into comics, this seems like a good question to ask. I dont know how comics work, story wise. I've been conditioned to start things from the beginning. if someone tells me I don't have to worry about where to start, it makes it easier to jump in. you have to remember that not everyone who likes your channel reads comics. it sounds like you convinced someone to start. thats a good thing. just answer his question. haha

I'll be honest, there were times I did not want to jump into a new comic because I did not know if I was going into a new storyline or something. Usually, a crossover comic, like, do I need to read the last 30 episodes of Fantastic 4 to continue on with the X-Men series I am reading, since a new Dr. Doom is on the cover (made up example, but close)?

I’m always so annoyed by people asking if a book is okay to start without reading something prior to it. I don’t know if I’ve ever read any comic that required you to read prior comics. There’s definitely some where it could make you enjoy things more, but you can jump in blind even in the middle of a run, or arc and you should be fine.
Depends if it's long ass arc like No Man's Land and if you just pick up a random issue and you're like wait what?

Ok I'll read it then 😅
Batman 158 was the beginning of Hush 2 Legacy number 923 it took so long to finish I didn’t read the rest when it’s collected I’ll pick it up But now there’s like 8 issues of a new Batman Number 1 with a different writer I could see reading Hush 2 going back to Batman and then wondering why the storyline didn’t resolve But for the most part I don’t think you have to read what came before If you don’t know the previous stuff and they changed something about Batman or Daredevil I don’t think you’d ever notice Unless is specifically mentioned an event like Devils Rein but even then
I’ve said it before here I’ll never understand why random YouTube mopes ask insipid questions in a YouTube comment section. Like you can’t pull up the information with a simple google search ? It’s the same morons that claim that non marketing of a comic killls sales,
