Glad to see this. Labour's Islamophobia definition would stop the work of the Survivor's Archive - collating a detailed database on the grooming gangs - in its tracks. We would not be able to release survivor testimonies highlighting abuse by Muslims. It must now be scrapped.

We use ‘grooming gangs’ because a) it signifies that there’s more to the scandal than rape. The girls are psychologically tortured as well as physically. b) most people understand what is meant by the term, and that it’s a separate issue to child sexual abuse and exploitation.

In February, the Conservatives in the Welsh Senedd called a vote on holding an inquiry into the grooming gangs in Wales. Leader of the Welsh Lib Dems @DoddsJane voted against the motion. Why? Because she didn't like the phrase "grooming gangs". 🙄
