Would the world be better if furries really existed?
I think it would be a lot more cooler. What do you think?

CRISPR could make it reality. But be careful what you're wish for.

It is called uplifting when animals get genetically modified to become intelligent enough to become independent citizens with the same rights, accountability, and responsibilities as humans.

Apes and monkeys will likely be the first animals to be uplifted if such can someday become more than just science fiction. Dolphins and orcas might also make good candidates to uplift.

In the beginning such research will be met with much resistance from groups like animal rights activists but later these types of groups will be the ones who will call for the uplifted animals to be granted full citizenship.

But before the first fully uplifted apes have been integrated into society then pets like dogs and cats will have been partially uplifted to maybe have the social skills and abilities of a young human child. Maybe their front paws will even have fingers and they can do things like open a refrigerator or type on a keyboard.

Ability to speak?

Imagine your dog nagging you every time it sees a Burger King restaurant, or it wants a weekly allowance of 100 dollars, LOL
