The Gift of Waldorf Education
WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE
The curriculum in Waldorf education is designed to unfold over time in a wide and richly experiential way. Different than curriculum driven by mandated testing or narrowly defined achievement goals, we recognize the central importance of lifelong learning and have designed our curriculum for a child’s emerging individuality and to promote their capacities for the art of living. Since meaning and knowledge are built over time, this is co-constructive learning in which understanding unfolds as a process of learning to learn, encompassing both student and teacher.
Founded in the early 20th century, Waldorf Education is based on the insights, teachings, and principles of education outlined by the world-renowned educator, artist, and scientist, Rudolf Steiner. The principles of Waldorf Education evolve from an understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. This is the wisdom of a century-old approach to education that has become the fastest-growing education movement worldwide.
