In reply to Gregory Comms and available clothing in Russia/Soviet Union. A friend of mine went on an exercise in Berlin in the early 1980's, before the wall came down. He came back with a very nice Soviet leather military belt. My friend was a "Hard Man" and he was asked did he find some poor Russian soldier alone and knock him out and take his belt? He said "No, I walked up to this soldier, showed him a Zippo lighter, and pointed at his belt, and he could not take it off fast enough." Also stories of people taking blue jeans and swapping for similar items. John

Indeed there was. One example lives at my house: A 1945-dated TT-33 from Izhevsk. Wish I had the bring-back papers that it once had associated with it, but the chopper driver who sold it to me at Fort Knox had apparently discarded them. Oh well. Sewer pipe bore but otherwise decent shape and shoots well. The Librarian has sort of appropriated it.
