Anti-houseless and anti only going there to work. They don’t want people staying for too long and only getting one thing/not getting anything at all. It’s stupid but I’ve seen a lot of places doing this. You don’t want to hang out in a place that’s inconvenient for long periods of time and they know that.
he’s your dad and he loves you, still. There’s a comfort in these photos. A tranquility he didn’t get much. I think having kids kept him soft, but there may have been some addictive personality issues in the way at times. He’ll never not be proud of you. You’re his baby. He knows you’ll make the right decisions. Even if they’re not the right ones, they were right for you at the time of making them, if that makes sense? He just wants you happy and safe and to live a comfortable life.
Since he’s over 2, it’s likely hormone driven, like you said! Try offering food once a week or every two weeks. As long as he doesn’t seem lethargic and isn’t losing a concerning amount of weight, don’t worry too much! If the fast lasts a concerning amount of time and he starts exhibiting lethargy and becomes thin, I’d recommend an exotic vet. Just keep an eye on him, spring is a goofy time for them lol
When I look at my own cats and weigh the path ahead, I find that the most honest compass is the heart of their daily joy. Are they still enjoying the sun on their fur and find comfort in it? Are they still able to move through their world with ease, eating and drinking without the weight of struggle? When those simple pleasures begin to fade, the definition of care begins to shift. With that being said, cats are extremely good at hiding pain. I worked in a feline specialty clinic for years and it truly boggles my mind what they are able to endure. There is a bittersweet mercy in what we can provide for them. Euthanasia is what I consider the final kindness. It’s a release from pain that even we, as humans, often cannot claim for ourselves. It is the ultimate gift of agency we give to a soul that has given us everything. We often fear making the choice too early, but there’s a gentleness in the realization that it is far better to be a moment "too soon" than a moment "too late." To spare them from even a single day of unnecessary suffering is the purest form of mercy. To love is to recognize when the body is ready to rest, and to understand that letting go is not an end to that love, but its highest and most selfless expression. At the end of the day, she knows she is loved, and that she is safe with you. You’ll know when it’s time.
He said he opened his antique shop because he had a LOT of art from his travels from when he was younger and wanted others to experience them (No idea what he did, but he obviously lived a full, adventurous life) A lot of his items are phenomenal and so well kept. I’m sure if I told him what it actually was, he would still be content with it because he adored it. He just wanted someone to take it home that appreciated it like he did for so long 😭. Regardless of what it is, or who made it, I am still so appreciative to have it in my home!
Very odd they didn’t do X-rays, especially with gingivitis and expansion present. My clinic does X-rays before and after, which is beneficial in figuring out if there’s more going on under the surface that cannot be physically seen with our eyes alone, as well as seeing if anything is going on after potential extractions based on the prior X-rays done.
