VTuber Miia Tzu has been removed from SEGA’s Creator Zone program just days after celebrating her acceptance into the initiative, sparking speculation over whether online controversy surrounding her views on transgender issues played a role in the decision.

Less than 24 hours later, she revealed that she had been removed from the program. According to screenshots shared by Miia, SEGA informed her that following “an additional review of program eligibility and community safety standards,” the company had determined it could no longer continue her participation in the Creator Zone:
The notice cited Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, as well as SEGA’s standards regarding creator content, brand safety, and community conduct. No specific incident or statement was identified as the reason for her removal.
Following the announcement, critics believe she was removed due to her daring to have an opinion different from that of the usual suspects, as one detractor in the comments posted a video of Miia sharing her opinions on transgenderism:
