KUWAIT: Kuwait security personnel have arrested a suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a currency exchange company branch in the Al-Shaab area, during which approximately KD 21,000 was stolen. The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that intensive search and investigation efforts led to the swift identification and arrest of the suspect following extensive operations conducted by security teams.
The incident dates back to a report received by the operations room regarding a robbery at the exchange office by an unidentified individual. Security authorities immediately responded to the scene and carried out the necessary procedures. According to employees, the suspect was masked and carrying what later turned out to be a fake weapon. He was also in possession of a container believed to contain petrol. The suspect threatened staff and assaulted several employees before entering a restricted area for employees and seizing approximately KD 21,000 in various currencies, after which he fled the scene.
Search and investigation teams immediately launched intensive operations upon receiving the report, using advanced technical tools and modern investigative methods. Their efforts led in a short time to the identification of the suspect, a Filipino national, and his subsequent arrest - reflecting the efficiency and readiness of Kuwait’s security agencies in dealing with criminal cases.
