Welcome to Make Men Emotional Again

Hi, I’m Jeremy Mohler, LCPC (he/him), a licensed therapist helping men and couples and a writer in the labor movement.

Being a man today is confusing.

We’re told that we take up too much space, yet also that we don’t talk enough about our emotions.

We’re told that it’s “natural” and “traditional” for us to take charge and provide for ourselves and others, yet it’s clear that plenty of women are capable of that too.

If you’re like me, you reject the unhealthy version of masculinity being sold to us by powerful politicians, billionaires, and “manfluencers.” Yet, it feels impossible right now to find a way of being a man that feels positive, like we’re helping and not hurting society and those around us.

Make Men Emotional Again is a newsletter where I bring my experience as a therapist to helping men (including myself) accept and live into being the man we actually are. It’s also a community of men figuring this out together, because if there’s anything I’ve learned being a therapist, it’s that we can’t do anything worthwhile alone.

Subscription options

Free subscribers get weekly posts like these:

Paid subscribers ($5/month or $50/year) get a little more:

  • Live Men’s Groups: Once a month on a Friday at noon ET, I host a live online men’s group just for paid subscribers. We gather, check in about how we’re feeling, and practice authentic communication. Feeling isolated? Struggling in a relationship? Want to strengthen your communication skills? Let’s connect.

Your $5 a month (or $50 a year) helps pay for my house, internet, computer, books, and other things I need to keep this project going. It allows me to not have to see so many therapy clients every week, which tends to burn me out.

It also contributes to the National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA), an organization working to win respect, recognition, and labor rights for nannies, housecleaners, and homecare workers, to which I give 5 percent of my earnings from this newsletter each month.

If you can’t afford a subscription, email me with a request to be on the list. I’ll give you a subscription, no questions asked.
