A new moderation dispute has erupted in the anime game modding community after two Neverness To Everness mods were removed from GameBanana over concerns about “sexualized minors in games.”
AyakaMods reported that GameBanana had removed two character outfit mods: Seductive Negligee Ichi-daime and Kitty Lingerie Nanally:
GameBanana cited the reason for their removal to be “sexualised minors in games”, yet another instance of the modding website policing what people are allowed to experience in fictional content that has no real world victims.
The modding site has been copying their previous actions of website Nexus Mods, who have also been removing mods for the same reason.
Following the removals, the two Neverness To Everness mods were republished on Ayaka Mods.
It’s interesting how content that, at worst, is considered perverse, fetishistic, and otaku-related in the Japanese—which is already an accurate description—is vaguely and opinionatedly considered a crime of child sexualization in the West. This crime makes no syntactic or semantic sense because the images, according to them, depict minors, but somehow justifies its cancellation financially and socially.
And somewhere in Europe, more actual minors get murdered by “socioeconomic factors”.
