Nigeria – UNEP and the Green Frontiers participating schools organized a tree planting to mark World Environment Day 2011. The idea was conceived by club members and included tree planting events held in different Ogoniland communities over a two-week period. Club members took part with much zeal.
The team with support from Rivers State University of Science and Technology and a non governmental organisation, Kpena Environmental Conservation Monitoring Centre Ketoi Bodo City, carried out interactive and participatory demonstrations at all eight participating schools, in conjunction with UNEP.
