In Israel, women don't just break the glass ceiling - they shatter it. 🇮🇱💪

The Israeli Defense Forces has reached a historic milestone: a female soldier has successfully completed the demanding 18-month training course required for integration into Sayeret Matkal - Israel's most elite special operations unit, equivalent to the U.S. Army's Delta Force.
The pilot program, launched in December 2024, was designed to examine expanding women's service in combat units, including special operations. The soldier met all required criteria and completed the dedicated training course successfully.

Israel's First Lady Michal Herzog speaks out against UN's one-sided sexual violence report.
Michal Herzog, who has met with hostages of Hamas who endured sexual violence in Gaza, has condemned the UN Secretary-General's latest report - calling it "shameful" for beginning by questioning victims' accounts.

The UN report is yet another stain on the organization's record of bias.

Her full statement:
"Outrage. Disgrace. Disappointment. I cannot choose the right word for how I feel when reading the UN Secretary-General’s report on conflict-related sexual violence.

As someone who has met with and seen the pain and suffering of the hostages who returned home from unbearable captivity in the dungeons of Gaza, I ask: how can one accept a one-sided report that begins with a paragraph claiming that their accounts of sexual violence cannot be verified?

If you cannot believe the victims at the start of your report, why should anyone believe the rest of it?

This shameful report is yet another stain on the record of the United Nations.

To the brave hostages who endured the hell of sexual violence at the hands of terrorists and returned home: We believe you. We are here for you. And your voices will be heard.”

Israeli researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science have identified a previously unknown mechanism that explains why many men's prostate cancers stop responding to standard hormone therapy - opening a clear pathway to a new treatment strategy that could transform care for millions.

The study, published in EMBO Molecular Medicine and led by Prof. Yosef Yarden, found that tumors carrying a specific gene fusion can bypass hormone therapy by switching to an alternative survival pathway driven by cortisol, the body's stress hormone. This discovery is the first to clearly link the gene fusion - found in about half of prostate cancer cases - to treatment resistance.
The research suggests that combining standard hormone therapy with drugs that block cortisol receptor signaling could prevent this "escape mechanism" in tumors. Mouse model studies showed this combined approach reduced tumor growth and extended survival, suggesting a clinical approach worth testing in humans. @weizmanninstitute

Sagi, a combat fighter in the IDF's Lotar counter-terrorism unit, fell in battle against Hamas terrorists on Kibbutz Be’eri in southern Israel during the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre.
When he heard what was unfolding that horrific morning, he headed to southern Israel.
Sagi was set to marry his partner, Omer, later that month.

Following Sagi’s death, Israel's Bereaved Families Law was adjusted to recognize same-sex partners of fallen soldiers as equal widows and widowers.

Today and always, we remember Sagi. May his memory forever be a blessing. 🕯️
