Japanese creator platform Fantia has abruptly backed away from its recently revised censorship guidelines affecting 2D content, apologizing to creators and confirming that it will temporarily return to its previous standards while new discussions take place.
According to the announcement, Fantia is currently holding further discussions with the legal institution that raised concerns about the guidelines:

We are currently holding renewed discussions with the legal institution that raised concerns, regarding future policies and standards for the 2D genre.
As a result, we are reviewing the screening standards for the 2D genre, and until new standards have been established, we have decided to return to the previous standards.
Details regarding the new standards and their implementation date will be announced again as soon as possible.
Therefore, for creators working in the 2D genre, we ask that you please wait until our next announcement before making any modifications or revisions to past works.
We once again apologize for the anxiety and concern this situation has caused everyone.
While Fantia did not provide further details in this announcement regarding what the final standards will look like, the message makes clear that the recently announced rules are no longer being enforced as originally presented, at least until revised guidelines are released.
This move at least shows that the site has show backbone when it comes to giving users what they want, though, it’s uncertain whether or not the new guidelines will end up being worse.
What they really need to do is get rid of their Draconic Censorship Laws and we wouldn’t have to keep discussing this whenever they do something this stupid.
