I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT:
So some of you might have noticed that I haven't been as active posting new content on here as I was in past years. I'm going to be 100% honest with this post and give you guys an update on where I'm at currently, because I genuinely do appreciate all the support you've shown me. I debated doing a "State of the Channel" video for this, but I'd rather focus my energy into making fun content for you all instead, so here's what's up:
2024/2025 were some amazing years with a lot of fantastic opportunities, but the burn out became VERY real. I love cosplaying Eggman and making Eggman videos, but behind the curtain, it's very taxing. The suit ironically is fine to wear if I'm out and about (at cons or filming at locations), but when I'm sitting and filming things at my desk, the costume becomes a nightmare. Due to it being tight around my neck, it makes it hard to breathe, gets very hot, and I'm also blind while filming (to prevent reflections on the glasses, we sprayed the interior of them with black spray paint and the exterior with a matte clear coat). So any time you see me at the desk recording videos, I can't really see much of anything haha. It usually takes me a day or two to recover physically from shooting one of those videos. I also work full time outside of my YouTube videos and social media, so filming and editing vids is done later at night/on weekends, when I'm already at a partial state of burn out.
The point of this post isn't to complain or be like "feel bad for me plz". I chose the Egg-life and I'll continue making Eggman vids, I just would like to be transparent with why there has been seemingly less of them.
On a related note, my goal for a long time with my content has been to diversify a bit. While I absolutely love the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, I also have other franchises and characters I love (Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man, Mario, etc.). I would really like to start creating more content with those other topics as well. I think it goes for anyone that if they're passionate about the content they're creating, the quality of the content goes way up. I want to make videos and shorts that I want to make, not out of a sense of "pressure" that if I don't crank a video once a week the algorithm is going to destroy me.
I'm not going to stop making Sonic and Eggman content by any means, and expect to see Eggman again in the near future. I just want to make the content I'm passionate about and not pigeonhole myself into only ever doing Eggman content. I want to even try streaming more, not as Eggman, but as myself. Playing games with friends and just kind of doing stream hangouts and interacting with my community way more overall.
On one hand, I totally get it, you might be reading this and be like "Wait, I followed the Eggman guy for Eggman stuff!" and I totally get that. The Eggman stuff isn't going away and I have some fun stuff planned especially with Sonic 4 coming out in 2027. But on the other hand, I also want to be able to prove myself with my other non-Eggman content and be able to provide quality videos overall.
If you read all of this rambling, I really appreciate it! I'm excited for this "new chapter" of the channel and I hope that gets conveyed through the videos I make! Thank you all for your support over the last several years!
