I like Kanji de Go but I have mixed feelings on this particular version. I'll still give a thumbs up because it might be to someone's taste. The basic concept is sort of "Warioware as a typing game" with great animation and little bossfights. A Japanese word will appear on-screen in Kanji and you have to type the hiragana (you need to have your IME actually set to hiragana, it won't take romaji). I don't do great at the original version but even Japanese people apparantly struggle with it so the original version has some good educational value for both learners and Japanese natives.

My problem with this manga version is that almost every word it prompts you with is a character's name and that's kinda dirty because kanji in names generally don't follow or care about the typical pronunciations and uses of that kanji, so it's kinda useless as an educational tool and probably impossible if you haven't actually read these particular manga, but if you have read these series it's probably pretty easy and a fun challenge. The original version is kind of a 50/50 split between "words a normal person would know" and "words only a crazy person would know" so I can at least get a non-zero number of answers right on that one.

So TLDR: This version isn't good for language nerds but it probably really fun for manga nerds. These are all like the most popular manga so I'm probably kind of an outlier in terms of the media diet of someone who would otherwise be into this game but all the popular ones got like eleventy-million chapters and I ain't got time for that lol. I just wanna learn words good and figure out names later.

The original non-manga version is a free webgame that you can play in a browser so maybe google that depending on what your interest in a kanji challenge is.

Really like the idea. I was excited to scoop this up on day 1. Knowing a few hundred kanji already, the menu can be navigated pretty easily but even going into 'normal mode', the lowest one offered - it starts you right off the bat with multi-character onyomi readings. I picked the jojo's one to look at after toying around in main mode for a while and most of the questions just ended up being character names...which isn't very practical, if my understanding of how widely different name readings can be compared to basic vocabulary, is on point.

Definitely not for beginners, but I can imagine this would be super super fun if you were more of like an N3+ level learner. I do appreciate how it spells out in kana what it is you missed, and you can certainly glean quite a bit by going after each lost round to look up the meanings of answers. o7

Edit: Oh, can't believe I forgot one issue I had! If you do not have a working Japanese digital keyboard, it will not accept your answers. Gotta make sure that you're typing using kana, the game won't convert romanji characters like many learning sofwares. That might be more obvious to people who've played stuff like this before, but someone new coming in might not forsee that hurdle right upon downloading it!

This game is full of manga characters names and their skills names, which isn't helpful for studying kanjis,because this game is not even presenting the right way to pronounce those Kanjis in real life.I would not recommend this game to anyone excpet readers of Japanese manga.

以前看漫画只看中文，不清楚一些奇怪汉字的读音，不看不知道一看吓一跳，男漫画作者乱标汉字读音的坏毛病在这游戏里真是体现得淋漓尽致。
比如死神那题里的人狼不是原来的读音而是片假名的wolf😅这就算是日本人看了也想骂人的程度。
纯粹是粉丝向作品，难怪设定成免费游戏，不免费根本没人玩lol

我知道的女性作者只有鬼灭的鳄鱼和青驱的作者加藤和惠.然而这两部都是男主漫画
至于女主角作品，那只剩下约定的梦幻岛了，甚至其实严格意义上约定的梦幻岛不算完全是女主，主角团应该算女主+俩男宝。😅而岛的作者白井又性别成谜（虽然我比较愿意相信是女作者）。

做题游戏，本质是给漫画打的广告

甚至连题库都不给，上来直接做题。错三次就game over了，那玩个屁啦，你们宅男割自娱自乐算了。

Like one of the other English reviewer's said, I'm around N3, very fun to get my a** kicked most of the time by this game. What makes me feel better is the Japanese people struggling with it. This is pretty close to the ceiling for the Japanese language and you get to test your manga skills at the same time.

Kanji-de-GO is well known for studying japanese kanji(chinese characters), but this game is full of manga characters names and their skills names, which isn't helpful for studying kanjis. I recommend its web version when you are looking for a game for study... This game is just for testing how much otaku you are. (+ kinda buggy. It's made with Unity)

Okay, a fun way to learn and practice your kanji! I really enjoyed matching images to the correct characters. It's simple, but provides a nice mental workout and reinforces memorization. Definitely worth checking out if you want a playful study tool.
