This week I found an original pressing of Jump Back! and last week I found an Atlantic Rewind CD... people are ditching their older comps for the new one! Win-win for me, I guess..

I may eventually spring for this at a decent price, but sounds like I'm gonna wish it sounded better....

So not so unusual for the Stones then.

I recently found a used UK vinyl copy of Jump Back from 1993, which I didn't know existed. Quibbles about inclusions/omissions aside, the remastering is spectacular. This along with the Wally cut Beatles reissues from the same era shows that digitally done vinyl can be done well.

Yes I like the 93' UK vinyl also.
What was the grading & cost?

I'm not quite sure what the point of this comp is. Then again, I just bought it anyway, so I guess that is the point.

So, for THE best Stones compilation, the winner is...? (Please say Jump Back, because it's the only Stones comp I have)

Surely would have to be Hot Rocks 1964-1971 then Jump Back since those are the only two I need.

Buy way to much plastic and CDs especially chasing the holy grail of the best sounding version of any particular album. Spent a fortune on the Stones in recent years and have been let down time and time again. Today made a stand and decided against buying Honk at my local supermarket. How many Hits package can a group do, obviously in the Stones case a never ending line. Proud of myself and to be fair slightly confused as a buying junkie. Oh-hum, forward and onward.

Don't kid yourself. One day you'll have a weak moment and snap it up. It's happened to all of us.

If there is a point to "Honk" - apart from making us all buy what we've already owned for decades in a slightly different cover - it has escaped me.

On the plus side, that now means that copies of "Grrr" can be dirt cheap. There was a copy of the 3CD version for 99p on Discogs the other week.

    Was it $99 postage?

I got rid of the GRRR! enormo box, there was way too much bloat just to have one EP of live tracks that are now included with On Air and a poor-quality copy of the IBC demos (from a bootleg source!)

The Blu-ray version is essential for some otherwise nonexistent hi res versions of later tracks (though I think in some cases they may be upsampled)

Luckily, I was ordering some other stuff from the same seller - and had put off buying "Grrr" for years because there's only two new tracks on it - so I only paid 99p.

Postage on its own was about £1.20. That works out at about 4p a song.

If there is anyone who, for some bizarre reason, doesn't want their live Honk cd, I will gladly buy it.

Maybe there are people that haven’t owned all those tracks for decades. Maybe the compilation isn’t intended for fans that have bought previous comps. Maybe it’s for newer, casual fans. Hmm.

I downloaded 8 of 10 live songs on iTunes. The other 2 require a purchase of the album. So another $9+, and I get to download another remix of 36 songs I already have. I have the 2012/2013 MfIT versions for the post 1969 catalogue.

Does it make sense to download the rest for either reason:

    1. Buy the last 2 live tracks (Beast and Bitch)?
    2. Possibly to upgrade the mastering for the other 36 songs?

Upgrade? You must be joking! I don't care for those other two performances, either
