Currently filiing a report against his website, again. His awoo site has literal 13 year olds in it posting pictures of themselves holding up the awoo domain name next to their faces and their session IDs, explicitly stating the distribution of illegal content. How exactly is it not taken down at this point?
As a .cf site, it is hosted by Freenom, which effectively as a business is not available for support or takedown requests which makes things weird. .cf's are Central Africa domains that were hosted via Freenom, so effectively, as long as you can keep the server up on your own, the domain is essentially "untakedownable" because there's no one to actually takedown. likewise the servers themselves are VPS's from a country that does not comply with Western requests,. The domain in and of itself is a zombie domain, and the actual servers are in untouchable territory because of world socio=politics. This is also seen in .pk domains, and if I remember correctly, the previous domain was a .pk domain
Anyway, to say Leto is responsible for the domain is not entirely true, he mostly oversees the owo.vg side of things while also retaining domain oversight of awoo.cf. Imagine if there was a Kiwifarms adjacent chan called Kiwichan or something, and Null had domain oversight and administration powers on it, but really wasn't full active on it, but left the active participation to a co-admin, and said co-admin engaged in swattings, raids, etc. Everyone would blame Null, because effectively, he's the figurehead, whereas the actual problem is coming from the co-admin of the hypothetical chan. There's the rub with "Why isn't it taken down?" Leto is definitely more participative than not, however, the main issue comes from his co-admin (which is mentioned earlier in the thread) as the "If you take Leto down, because he's an American citizen, nothing changes, because he's just a figurehead." So the site stays up a little longer specifically to ID said co-admin, and some other persons of interest who are, if you will believe it,
much worse than Leto.
Awoo.cf is not
his chan, he's just carrying a parasite that has gone by many names, Sturdychan, Catchan, etc.
Tl;dr edition.
1. It's trickier than normal due to zombie domain and international jurisdiction
2. It's very much more of an asset for other things than not
cough honeypot cough
3. Leto will still be probably charged with something regardless of the current deal on the table.
