What a collection does, above all, is make comparison possible. Vol.183 offers six images that invite the eye to move between them — noticing the variations in pose, in tonal range, in the relationship between figure and ground. Sakuramakoto Kichijoji builds these comparisons deliberately, giving the viewer something to work with.
