Shock Till You Drop has the report on Ellis, who will be replacing Fanboys helmer Kyle Newman. He in turn replaced TMNT director Kevin Munroe.
The film is about a pair of janitors who get trapped in a research facility and accidentally release military-trained monkeys.
Ellis also has Shark Night 3D in the works, which starts shooting this summer, as well as something called Bad Luck and an "alien thriller" titled Humpty Dumpty.
