Expereo Ltd is a telecommunications company and managed Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.[3] It provides managed connectivity and network services to enterprises and governments[4] operating regional offices in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and South America.[5][6]
History
[edit]Expereo was founded in 2004 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.[7] In 2005, the company completed the initial build-out of its global internet access coverage and began offering equipment and maintenance services.[8]
Between 2008 and 2010, Expereo established regional network hubs in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, and Los Angeles, and opened offices in Asia and North America.[9] In 2011, the company acquired dot.Africa and opened an office in Dubai, followed in 2012 by the opening of customer support and service centres in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[10]
In July 2014, Expereo was acquired by The Carlyle Group, a US-based private equity firm.[11][12] In 2017, Expereo acquired Border 6, a French connectivity provider, as part of its European expansion.[13] In May 2018, Apax Partners acquired Expereo from The Carlyle Group.[14][5] In the same year, Expereo launched managed SD-WAN services in partnership with Cisco and Viptela, and extended its network hub coverage to include African locations.[15][16][17]
In 2019, Expereo launched expereoOne, a web-based network visibility and management platform. In February 2021, Vitruvian Partners, a European growth equity firm, acquired a majority stake in Expereo.[18][19][20][21] Following the ownership change, Expereo made some acquisitions, including Comsave, Videns IT Services, Brodynt Global Services, and Breeze Networks, the last of which was completed in 2022.[22][23][24][25][26]
In 2024, Expereo launched its Enhanced Internet product and became an authorised reseller of Starlink's Low Earth orbit satellite services.[27][28][29]
Activities
[edit]Expereo provides internet connectivity services including broadband, dedicated internet access (DIA), Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity sourced through regional and local network providers. It also offers managed SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).[30]
Launched in 2024,[31] Enhanced Internet is an AI-based service that monitors network paths and automatically reroutes traffic to maintain application performance.[27][32] It can respond to issues such as latency, packet loss, and congestion.[33][34]
expereoOne is a web-based network visibility platform launched in 2019. It provides information on network health, deployments, performance, support tickets, and billing across multiple providers.[35][36] Expereo also manages enterprise network services with local providers.[37]
