With the completion of
Keppel,
Cantonment, and
Prince Edward Road, the Circle Line has finally lived up to its name: it is now a complete circle, making it Singapore's first MRT line to operate as a full-loop service.
A train service that runs in a continuous loop is a new concept for Singapore's rail network, and it calls for an entirely new approach to wayfinding. Based on public feedback, the terms Anticlockwise Loop and Clockwise Loop were adopted to describe the two directions of travel.
On the STIS display, the Anticlockwise Loop is identified by a loop logo with an anticlockwise arrow. The example here is a journey from
Telok Blangah to
Bayfront on the Anticlockwise Loop, via the three new CCL6 stations.
The Anticlockwise Loop travels continuously in the anticlockwise direction, as the animation shows.
Takeaway
The Anticlockwise Loop travels continuously around the Circle Line. On the STIS, it is identified by a loop logo with an anticlockwise arrow, along with the "via next interchange station" cue that indicates the train's direction of travel.
