Crack open history books, archaeology reports, and ancient tablets, and you’ll see that many of the “one-of-a-kind” Bible stories existed centuries before Judaism or Christianity. They were floating around in pagan cultures long before Moses supposedly got the Ten Commandments or Jesus walked on water.

The reason? Myths travel. Empires trade not just goods but stories. Conquerors carry their gods with them, and the conquered slip their own legends into the new religion.

The entire OT is describing that evolution. I mean it is actually described regarding the golden calf, Moloch etc.

My Father wants mercy and not SACRIFICE. That’s the Christian development, away from paganism.
