What It Takes to Get a Job at Anthropic
To win a coveted role, candidates shouldn’t outsource their thinking to AI — and should be prepared to talk about their worldview.

Anthropic’s explosive growth, mission-driven culture and impressive products have made it the tech industry’s most sought-after employer. Getting hired at one of the world’s top artificial intelligence companies, where job ads frequently feature $250,000-plus compensation packages, takes more than big brains and an elite résumé.
“I’m looking for someone very nontraditional — like, very nontraditional,” Chief Commercial Officer Paul Smith says of some hires in his group. For Smith, the ideal candidate for one of those roles is someone who can immerse themself fully in the customer’s world and help executives figure out where AI fits in. But the harder test may be whether job seekers can also fit inside Anthropic PBC itself.
