On January 23, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 10 locations across Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Gurdaspur Districts in connection with the 2025 Amritsar temple grenade attack case, reports The Tribune. Incriminating materials, including mobile phones and digital devices, were seized. The explosion occurred outside the Thakur Dwara Sanatan Temple at Khandwala on March 14, 2025. NIA investigations revealed that the attack was carried out at the direction of foreign-based handlers who recruited and funded operatives in India. The grenade was allegedly hurled by Vishal and Gursidak; Vishal has been arrested, while Gursidak is deceased. Explosives supplier Sharanjeet Kumar was earlier arrested, and additional grenades and a pistol were recovered from Gurdaspur.
