I'm a subscriber and a fan of his channel and watch most of the videos. But things don't happen in a vacuum. There is an overwhelming trend in Comics Fandom nowadays to constantly talk about failure.
I'd say it's an overwhelming trend on the SocMeds, PERIOD. Comics, movies, shows, POLITICS...negativity gets clicks. And people excuse it as "living in reality"...which, of course, it often isn't.
Failure isn’t one thing or two things or even three things, and so on. There’s failure-as-content (algorithm bait), perhaps legitimate-failure (a true box office bomb/poor critical/audience reviews), failure-as-artistic-risk (noble failure) or perhaps even oddity-failure that most people wouldn't even know about unless pointed out (too obscure). There are plenty of examples of movies that did 'fail' that carry on because of cable tv back in the day or today streaming... becoming a cult classic, as it's called.
He (Strange Brain Parts) covers things I want to hear about, but he bores me. He sounds like a mix of try-hard YouTuber and AI voiceover. When a YouTuber reads from a script, I’d prefer it if they just let us read that instead of reading it to us.
I only care to listen to people on YouTube who talk like actual people. Miss me with the performative shit.
