Welcome to the PROMINENT project

PROMINENT is a collaborative pan-European public-private partnership funded through the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) for five years. PROMINENT is creating a digital platform for precision medicine to improve the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disease and co-morbidities. The overriding objective is to assist clinicians with individualised decision support in the evaluation of patients with suspected cognitive impairment.

A breakfast seminar at the Alzheimer's Disease International Global Conference #ADI2026 on 15 April asked how national dementia strategies can better support people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Professor Miia Kivipelto, Professor Linus Jönsson and Norwegian advocate Marianne Mørck Danielsen highlighted a shared message: dementia strategies need to start earlier.

Earlier and more accurate diagnosis, prevention and risk reduction, coordinated support from the earliest stages, and meaningful involvement of people with lived experience all need greater focus.

As scientific progress creates new opportunities for earlier diagnosis and intervention, health systems and policymakers need to adapt accordingly. Every day counts in Alzheimer’s disease.
