      I got this outlet for a new 50-amp circuit I was installing in my garage. When I was wiring it up, I was impressed with the build quality; it feels much more heavy-duty than a standard household outlet. The terminals on the back were clearly marked and had large, sturdy screws that made it easy to secure the thick 8-gauge wire. It feels very robust, which gives me confidence that it will hold up to the demands of plugging and unplugging a heavy EV charger cord regularly.

      This is a high-quality outlet, UL certified for both Canadian and American markets. I verified the certification number E309821 on the UL website. It is weather-resistant and specifically designed for EV charging (be sure to confirm plug compatibility before purchasing).

      For outdoor installations, the outlet must be housed in an in-use weatherproof cover and protected by a GFCI circuit to meet safety standards.
