Yeah, definitely. I feel the same way. Batman definitely wasn't a detective in those movies.

Beyond that though, Nolan got the core of Batman just so wrong. Batman would never take 8 years off just because his friend died. That would make him fight harder. I mean the whole Lonely Place of Dying storyline was about him beginning to cross the line after losing Jason Todd. He did the exact opposite of what he did in the Dark Knight Rises.

Then at the end he quits for good to go live in Paris or wherever the fuck, after being Batman like 3 times total. And leaves it all to some kid who barely has police training. Say what you want about creative liberties, but that is NOT Batman.

I think it's plausible that Aquaman could be the threat that unites them. If he's like Superman and hasn't been active in the surface world as a hero, he could totally act as an antagonist and then realize the error of his ways. That could lead up to the first Justice League movie that would be a Throne of Atlantis type of story.

I don't think it's fair to completely discount the theory. Batman himself is acting as an antagonist in the first part of the film until he will realize that Superman is a hero, not a villain. So I don't see why it's such an improbable idea that Aquaman could be the same.

A lot of what you're talking about is people having opinions where facts prove them wrong. People can talk all they want about vaccines, but it doesn't change the fact that their opinion is wrong. You have the right to an opinion, but it doesn't necessarily mean that that opinion is going to be correct.

Disapproving of trans people or homosexuality is like being disapproving of black people or women. Nobody listens to racists and misogynists, just like nobody should listen to homophobes and transphobic people.

You're looking at it the wrong way. 80 percent of the prison population is black because the justice system in America is prejudiced. The statistics you're referring to are there because white people are convicted and sent to prison much less than black people who have committed the same or a lesser crime.

And you have to account for socioeconomic lag, as well as the fact that black Americans tend to live in a more urban environment, which is conducive to crime.

Taxes are paid for you no matter what age you are. There are other taxes besides Income Tax. Yes, a lot of people don't pay Income Tax, but they pay sales tax, payroll tax, capital gains tax, etc. Your inability to understand how the tax system works tells me you haven't actually possessed a job yet, which is fine, but it also illustrates a mental image of you when in conjunction with your childish ranting above. The image is not a positive one.

Additionally, there are plenty of rights that are not afforded to minors. That's why we have an Age of Majority. The law recognizes that minors are not mentally capable of exercising certain rights responsibly, therefore they are not afforded to minors.

It's obvious to me that you are a child who has absolutely no life experience.

If you don't pay your taxes you can definitely be stripped of your rights. Tax Evasion is a crime, and you can be given serious jail time for it. Taxes coincide with citizenship. That's how it has always been and will always be.

You didn't pay taxes the first 18 years of your life, but you also didn't have the same rights that tax payers have. Children are bound by the will of their parents, and there are many freedoms that are not bestowed upon minors.

This whole post is a childish rant. Get off your high horse and realize that this is a subreddit about a video game that you're crying about.

The irony, of course, lies in the fact that you're saying "life isn't fair" while complaining about how unfair it is that your taxes might go to helping somebody in need.

Take your own advice. Accept life isn't fair and move on. You don't have to agree with everything that your tax dollars go to. Taxes are part of living in society.

People do this for extra storage.

If you're a big enough Amazon seller, you get access to Amazon warehouses that store your items for you while they're on sale. If the seller doesn't want to sell the item yet, they will post it at a high price that nobody will pay in order to store the item in the Amazon warehouse.

There are a lot of negative comments here, so I'd just like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed playing ArcheAge so far. The two beta events I have played inspired me to purchase the Archeum Founder's pack so I can get Alpha access. =)

I'm having a lot of fun with the game!

Also they say that Superman should have moved the fight away from the city, like it's Dragonball Z or something.

The funny thing is that one of the most acclaimed Superman stories EVER, The Death of Superman, shows Metropolis being utterly destroyed by Superman and Doomsday. Not to mention the countless other instances where Metropolis is nearly destroyed during a fight.

It's a stupid argument.

And I'm just saying that the point of this is to see how they read to the general public. You read them as male because of your bias. I notice that a lot with people on this subreddit. People who pass perfectly fine are overly criticized, to the point where I feel like if I posted pictures of cis girls I work with, people like you would find something "male" about them. It's confirmation bias.

I would say just do the research about the side effects, and if you're going with injections do the research about how to properly inject.

When I first bought Estrofem I was swallowing them for about a week and a half until I looked it up and saw that the best way to take them was under your tongue.

A lot of people look down on DIY, but honestly the doctors don't know much about it either and if you educate yourself you'll know more than most doctors when it comes to HRT.

I don't think it's heresy, I just think it's exaggerated. I felt like Snyder's Superman was inspirational and Cavill is extremely charismatic in that role. Critics of MoS never seem to take into account that that movie was Superman's origin. Quite literally it was his first day as Superman. He has to evolve into what we know him as in the comics.

I have really long hair and girls ask me that question all the time. Some people have really slow growing hair and so they're looking for methods of making it grow faster. Sometimes they're just envious of how little time it has taken for me to grow my hair out.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I have a feeling that no matter what they did with Man of Steel, people still would have complained. Every complaint I've seen about Man of Steel is easily explained and/or refuted, and there are bad reviews that say things like "I long for the days when Superman would save a kitten from a tree or change a flat on the side of the road." That, and the fact that it "didn't have enough humor." Marvel movies are humorous, and as a result they're childish. DC is going for a more adult oriented universe. They don't have to do everything the same way Marvel does.

I'd say most of the DC characters have less personality than they did before the New 52. Major relationships that arguably defined the DC Universe either don't exist or are meager and forced (Ollie and Dinah, Clark and Bruce, just for two examples). Characters such as Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Jason Todd, Starfire, Martian Manhunter, Oliver Queen, and even Superman are shadows of their former selves. Yes, the JSA kind-of exists in the New 52, but not the real JSA. Pre-Flashpoint, the JSA was the embodiment of the rich history of DC Comics, and in the New 52 they're confined to an alternate universe, their entire histories erased to be replaced with clones of all the other young, strapping heroes in DC. I disagree that they're a little different. I think they're completely different. The only similarities are their names.

I go back and read old pre-flashpoint comics, and the universe seems so enticing and full of rich backstory. The old universe had a certain life to it that is completely gone with the New 52. Sure, there are certain titles that shine in the New 52, but for the most part it's a big lifeless clusterfuck.

It'd be hard to count all the times I felt powerful emotions reading the pre flashpoint comics. I don't think I've felt those kinds of emotions ever while reading New 52 comics. They lack a human quality, and it's really hard to put my finger on why, which is why this response is so long and rambling.

I just said that they should keep those things in mind when posting to this subreddit. My problem with what you said was that you were generalizing what it means to be a woman and telling somebody that they "might as well stay a man" just because they didn't try hard enough (in your opinion) to pass. Some people don't care about passing. My point is that passing isn't what makes somebody a man or a woman. Passing is a byproduct of the gender binary, and is perpetuated by a society rotting to its core with transphobia.

By the way, the fact that you're transgender doesn't exempt you from being called out on transphobic opinions. You're just as susceptible to society's transphobic ways as anybody else.

First of all... you mean your.

Second, you weren't there so you have no idea what you're talking about.

I was active in the community up until the point where I posted that. The mod in question knew that I was transgender. I stated in the post title that I was transgender, and they still called me a cross dresser.

So regardless of what is "typical" of a cross dresser, they knew that I identified as a woman and they did their best to insult me. Talking about what you typically see in a cross dresser's profile has nothing to do with me. If it was an inappropriate post for the subreddit, fine. But it had nothing to do with cross dressing.

This is... what's the best way to say it? Complete and utter bullshit.

All you're saying is just another form of the bullshit rhetoric that the radical feminists spout about being a "real woman" and what it takes to be a "real woman."

Guess what? There are plenty of women who don't put effort into their appearances. Wearing makeup, doing your hair, the type of clothes you wear, and hell even shaving has nothing to do with whether or not you're a woman. Does it help to pass? Yes. Should you probably keep those things in mind if you're going to post on this subreddit? Definitely. But do they determine whether you're a girl? Hell fucking no.

You have no right to tell somebody that they "might as well stay a man." That is transphobic bullshit that contradicts everything that the trans community stands for.

Bottom line: Keep this shit to yourself.

I'm actually a girl. =P

But when it comes to the creative writing field, I love pretty much everything about it. It's the freedom and open hours, yes, but I just have a passion for writing and I always have.

Honestly the only reason I want to go to school for Creative Writing is to get the training. I don't care about the degree as much, I just want formal training in writing. I have talent, but talent only gets you so far.

Thank you for the advice, Doctor Taco. XD

I think Marvel's biggest strength has been that they've unified their cinematic and television universes

What? That's Marvel's biggest WEAKNESS. Agents of SHIELD sucks because it's a shared universe. They can't use any interesting characters because they may want to use them later in the movies. They can't bring in any of the big stars because that would be too expensive.

There was an episode that was supposed to be a Thor 2 crossover, but Thor wasn't even in it! It was them cleaning up the mess caused from the movie. So basically you're watching Marvel's Clean Up Crew.

Marvel's biggest strength is that they have a formula that works for their characters. They don't take themselves too seriously, which is pretty much how Marvel is.

DC needs to go a different direction, because Marvel's lighthearted joke-filled formula won't work for Batman or Superman or really any of the JLA members to be honest.

I'm late to the conversation, but I'd like to point out that they mentioned Roy was in Bludhaven. Why was Roy in Bludhaven? Perhaps hanging out with another vigilante about his age?

The whole book is horror like this. It's absolutely fantastic.

I'm buying the Saga of the Swamp Thing trade paperbacks. I don't think they're poor quality at all. The paper isn't glossy but it isn't meant to be.

Here's a link. http://www.amazon.com/Saga-Swamp-Thing-Book-1/dp/1401220835/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396798263&sr=8-1&keywords=saga+of+the+swamp+thing

I've been off HRT for like 3 months now. Not by choice. I'm starting back very soon. I can tell you I experienced the same confusion, but it has worn off since then. I honestly think it's the remnants of the effects of HRT that cause the confusion, because now I feel panicky every day because I feel that I'm changing back to what I used to look like, even though my boobs are still getting bigger for some reason....

Those shoes look like the ones he's wearing in the other photos, so I'm going to guess that the suit comes from his shoes in this adaptation instead of a ring. That's just my guess though.

Though this may be a tired complaint, I would find a way to return to the pre-New52 universe for DC. I miss the characters who had depth and had real human relationships and real history that you could sense when you were reading the comics.

Now most characters are shadows of their former selves. I'm thinking of Green Arrow, Black Canary, Red Robin, Superman, etc. Batman and Superman are no longer best friends. Green Arrow and Black Canary are no longer together.

I have a JLA poster that has a gigantic roster of heroes. 90% of the heroes on that roster either no longer exist or have deviated so far from their character that they are now a different character. It really sucks. =(

Regardless of how often lesbians use strap ons, they still use them. So my question still stands: do you find that to be invalidating? I feel like you're assigning gender roles in sex and that's kinda closed minded don't you think?

I think it's only awkward and invalidating if you attribute being dominant as a male trait. Women who don't have penises fuck each other like that all the time, they just need a strap-on to do so. Is a lesbian using a strap-on also awkward and invalidating to you?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think it hurts our cause when people suggest that parents shouldn't gender their babies. The fact is that the majority of people have matching sex and gender identities, so trying to push that on people just makes us look extreme.

The better way, in my opinion, is to make sure your kids know that if they don't identify with their assigned sex it's okay and it's completely natural.

When are they going to admit that New 52 has been a hoax and that we're reverting back to the old story lines and characters? =( As much as I appreciate New 52 because it was bold and fresh... It just doesn't feel the same anymore. It feels more shallow now, and most of the characters seem to be poor imitations of their former selves.

Especially Ollie and Dinah...

What I hate about Piers is that he keeps saying "I don't deny that you felt that you were a woman." How can he not see that that's pretty much the same thing as saying that she wasn't ACTUALLY a woman, that's just how she felt? It just seems obvious to me that he's patronizing her.

And I hate the whole "I SUPPORT YOU SO I CAN DO NO WRONG." No. In my opinion, allies may even need MORE scrutiny than enemies, because if they're spreading false information or misconceptions in our name it makes us look bad. If you support the community then let us educate you about the process. It's obvious that Piers is ignorant because he keeps saying what most people say: "You had a sex change operation," or "You had transgender surgery." You can always tell when somebody is ignorant about what transgender people ACTUALLY go through because they sensationalize it as this big operation that you go into as a man and leave as a woman. It's a ridiculous idea, and it completely disregards non-op or pre-op transwomen.
