  • Earlier this month, we welcomed Mr. William Chua, Managing Director of WILLMAX HOSPITALITY, back to London for his bi-annual visit, where he led an intensive Leadership & Upselling Workshop for our team at Ellen Kensington. Colleagues came together for a day of learning, collaboration and inspiration. The session offered fresh perspectives on how leadership can be practiced at every level, sparking new ideas on teamwork, service and growth. In hospitality, true leadership is reflected in how we connect with our guests, guiding teams not only to meet expectations but to exceed them. Upselling becomes more than a transaction; it is the art of understanding needs, personalising experiences, and creating lasting impressions that transform every stay into a story worth remembering. One of the key takeaways was inspired by Stephen R. Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People: “Begin with the end in mind”. This timeless principle was at the heart of our workshop, reminding us that every action we take today shapes the experiences and successes of tomorrow.

Our recent staff retreat was held at Montigo Resorts, Somerset at Charlton House and brought together colleagues from Ellen Kensington and Somerset at Charlton House for intensive training sessions led by Montigo Resorts CEO Mr. Dalip Singh. Our UK teams from the Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Sales & Marketing divisions came together to learn, connect, and align on our shared mission of putting guests at the heart of everything we do. During the retreat, we also ran through Montigo Resorts’ culture and philosophy, reinforcing the values that guide everything we do. We were honored to have Mr. Mark Battle, Area General Manager UK, and Mr. Imran Mannan, Hotel Manager at Montigo Resorts, Somerset at Charlton House, actively participating and supporting the sessions. This retreat was more than just training.
