20 years is generous. I predict major control being implemented within the next 10 years. The economy is shaky, the second it tanks, I think then the governments will pull out their full online censorship. I think they will achieve this by requiring every browser and every ISP to require ID checking, and using ISPs to track down people who are not speaking in a state-sanctioned manner.
When that happens, I plan to go fully offline. The internet is not worth using in general, and it is a good excuse to stop wasting my time. I can play vidya on old consoles, I can read books, I can spend more time outside. I doubt there will be any war, none to a scale where conscription will take place. China is too smart to start a conflict, they will let the west collapse upon itself and then vvin after without a war.
