AcroCruiser

In 2018, somebody posted a “very positive mention” of a plane called AcroCruiser. I think it was an ultralight… He posted some pics.

There were no responses to the post, perhaps because it looked like a very obvious advert. The guy also pumped the plane on other threads.

Just now, we got a long and nasty email starting with

The thread at
[deleted]
reproduces, without authorisation, photographs and copy in which AirCom
Ltd. holds the copyright, and frames the AcroCruiser as a “high-
performance ultralight” — a positioning we have formally withdrawn.

Turns out the two email addresses are identical smiley

There are some weird people around!

Also looks like he got chatgpt to write the whole thing.

Probably best to not touch this thing with a 20ft bargepole!

I hope they made a generous donation smiley

Just got another chatgpt generated legal threat from the same guy… Demanding to remove this one.

Is it these guys ?

https://acrocruiser.com/

They got this snippet at the bottom

Intellectual property

Trade-secret & copyright — by deliberate stance

The intellectual property associated with the AcroCruiser airframe and the broader AirCom technology stack is held as trade-secret and copyright rather than under registered patent. This is a deliberate technology-protection stance, not an absence of protectable invention. Patent filing requires public disclosure of mechanism; for an architecture engineered at the design level to resist reverse-engineering, publishing the mechanism would surrender the very protection the architecture was built to provide.

I just wonder what this is supposed to be smiley :

an architecture engineered at the design level to resist reverse-engineering

Intentionally overly complicated solutions to simple problems that have been solved ages ago ?

Seemingly they have a design, even a prototype perhaps. But it seems to me the brain has left, and the whole thing is taken over by people who aren’t too bright.

So the guy posts and advert here, and then 8 years later, the same guy complains that the post is disclosing confidential information and asks that it be taken down?

Weird.

Is it these guys ?

Yes it looks like it.

Yes.

Now he is threatening to sue because his threat was posted here.

which is BS. No email address was disclosed.

It is a really strange way to do business. Oh and he is demanding £15000.

So he plugged the aircraft around the place years ago and now he is sending huge aggressive long emails, in both Latin and Bulgarian Cyrillic alphabets, asking to remove any discussion of the company.

I can’t help thinking of Barbra Streisand.

architecture engineered at the design level to resist reverse-engineering

This kind of design routinely occurs in the software world, and is also known to occur in silicon chips. But in an airframe? I find it hard to imagine, but even if their engineers pulled it off, it would severely limit its maintainability and modifiability: any repair or modification will need to be approved by the design approval holder in the spirit of Eastern Bloc’s traditions, or, if the design has no approval at all, it would still feel very uncomfortable not to know the structural properties.
@Pilot_DAR, what’s your take on this?

This guy is going totally crazy, sitting there and generating these huge emails, with attachments listing “EuroGA Mockery” etc.

Looks like he is trying to sell the company.

Sorry to hear that you have to go through that, Peter. Including by someone who earlier used your/our platform to advertise his product.

I can’t find anything that was “wrong” such that it could be enforceable by law or a judge. Just keep it this way and all we need is some popcorn.
