BIOGRAPHY

Determined to become a defining figure in professional wrestling from an early age, Konosuke Takeshita wrote applications to wrestling companies as an elementary school child, and later wrote a college thesis on the German suplex. It was DDT who first saw Takeshita's phenomenal potential, and billed the young man as the Future for his debut there.

On a massive rise in Japan, Takeshita was recognised by AEW, and Takeshita would grow to further prominence under the sinister wing of Don Callis. Now branded 'the Alpha', Takeshita was a dominant AEW International Champion who also represented both AEW and DDT in the G1 Climax in 2024, reaching the final six.

Takeshita started 2025 by winning the NEVEER Openweight Championship from Shingo Takagi, and signed with NJPW to become an unprecedented triple contracted wrestler to NJPW, AEW and DDT. Takeshita continues to live his own "dramatic dream," proving to the world that his brand of Japanese wrestling is among the best on the planet.

Takeshita made an immediate impact in NJPW, successfully defending the NEVER Openweight Championship against Boltin Oleg in Osaka and Ryohei Oiwa at Sakura Genesis. At Windy City Riot, he added a career-defining win by defeating NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi in a generational showdown. He continued his dominance with a successful defense against El Phantasmo at NJPW Resurgence 2025, but in their rubber match at Dominion, he lost the title to Boltin Oleg. During the G1 Climax, The Alpha cemented his place atop the wrestling world by winning the 35th G1 Climax, and later captured the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship from Zack Sabre Jr. at King of Pro-Wrestling; ushering in a new age for pro wrestling.

After successfully defending his title against former champion Hirooki Goto, Takeshita faced Yota Tsuji in a monumental winner-takes-all clash at Wrestle Kingdom. The gamble proved costly, as Takeshita came up short and lost both championships. Despite the temporary setback, the Alpha received a chance at the NJPW World TV Championship at New Beginning USA, which he successfully captured.
