Introduction:
Hi, I'm April! I'm a 24 year old transfem catgirl from Canada who uses they/it/she pronous. Some of my hobbies include photography, programming, and (to some degree) creative writing. I very rarely publish anything though, largely because I tend to start projects and than abandon them fairly quickly either due to burnout, bordeom, or dissatisfaction with what I've created. Because of that, my drive is littered with unfinished projects that will never see the light of day.
Probably my main special interest since around 2011 when (since when I was around 9) is GNU/Linux and free software. The main distro I use is the openSUSE family of distros (Leap, Tumbleweed, ect) but over the years I have used a countless number of distros. My other favourite distros are Fedora and Debian. More recently, I have installed Arch Linux on my main PC for the first time since 2013. It brings back many memories, and I am quite enjoying my experience with Arch. Many people say "I want my computer to just work" but it not doing so is in my opinion half the fun! Spending 8 hours on a problem to than solve it is one of the most satisfying things ever. If you do want a distro that "just works" as much as possible though, my GNU/Linux Beginners Guide uses Fedora Workstation, probably the most solid and reliable system out there.
My favourite season is spring (and is effectively why I chose this name) and I love cherry trees! They have such beautiful flowers during the spring, and I used to have a cherry tree growing up but sadly it died. If it seems like I care too much about a cherry tree, at the time I saw them as a sort-of pet if that makes any sense.
In social situations:
I generally prefer to keep to myself largely because I struggle in social situations and oftentimes the various noises that come from it (such as talking, laughing, ect) can be overwhelming. I generally prefer calm and quiet environments with minimal stimuli. I get social fatigue relatively easily, and may not enage after my battery has ran out. When chatting online, I generally prefer to text chat as I find it easier and less fatiguing than talking. I may also sometimes get a bit flirty, and I do not take hints very well so if you don't like it please tell me directly instead of assuming I will get the hint because I most likely will not.
I will also ask that if you are ever around me, to try to keep as calm as possible. Please do not touch me (anywhere) unless I consent to it. I don't care if you instinctively have the need to touch people without asking, it can cause me to become overloaded and I won't want to be around you. If I ask you to stop touching me, it is always a serious request (no matter what demeanor I seem to be in) and should be respected.
By default I will use they/them pronouns and neutral terms for everyone, and I likely won't ask your pronouns or the terms you like to use until I know it's safe to do so. If you don't like they/them pronouns or neutral terms, please let me know if you feel comfortable doing so. I don't like assuming people's genders and I suck at doing so even when forced to. You are free to (as mentioned above) use feminine or netural terms/pronouns (and the few masculine terms I like) with me.
Gender/Sexual/Therian Identity:
My exact gender identity is unique to me and there isn't a perfect label to describe my entire gender identity and I oftentimes refer to myself as both a trans girl and a nonbinary transfem, and you're free to do the same as well. My gender identity can sometimes flucuate between a more intense feminine identity and a less intense feminine identity at times. I would also consider myself a therian as I don't see myself as entirely human, I identify mainly as a cat.
My ideal body goals would be a feminine body with cat ears and tail although I care less about my breast size (smaller/flat means less back pain, so there are benefits although I would also love larger if my DNA allows for it) and I am as non-op as it gets since I actually get bottom euphoria from what I was born with, which is it's own story (initally I did have bottom dysphoria) not fit for this website. Typically, my gender goals tend to be women, feminine enbies, and on rare occasions femboys or fem-presenting masc enbies.
When it comes to my name, there are a few big reasons why I chose April as my name. First is that I have many sentimental memories of springtime, and I felt choosing a name related to that would honour my favourite season. Second was because April 2020 was when I started to seriously question my gender identity, it was the start of what would eventually lead to me discovering that I am transfem. Third is that I think it’s overall just a cute fem name that fits me perfectly.
As far as pronouns go I would prefer they/them, it/its, and she/her being used. I mostly prefer feminine and some neutral terms. If you want to learn more about the terms and pronouns I like, visit my pronouns and terms page. My gender expression is generally feminine, and my favourite clothes being skirts, thigh-highs, fem shirts, and dresses.
Gender Goals:
To get an idea of what kind of body I'd wish to have and my fashion goals, I have some characters that give me gender envy below. These characters serve as a broad target for what I wish to look like rather than strict goals as they are not real people.

Sexual and romantic identity:
In my very first years of feeling sexual attraction, I was exclusively androphilic but as I grew older I moved to a more gynephilic direction, or so I thought. My sexuality has been somewhat fluid over the course of my life. After my egg cracked, I would first identify as a lesbian but found that to not be sufficent for me. I would identify as bisexual, however never found myself finding masculine men attractive. For the time being, I found that finsexuality (if you're wondering what that is, read my blog post about it.) is how I'd describe my sexual identity, and it's quite a bit more accurate than the other labels I've found. I experience sexual attraction to people who are feminine in gender identity and/or gender presentation.
At this point in time, my romantic attraction is sapphic although I'm still not 100% certain if this label fits it right now, and it might change in the future. So far, I have only ever felt genuine romantic attraction to women and feminine non-binary people. I am also poly to some degree but I do have a limit on how many partners I can handle at once. I can also function in mono relationships as well, I can go either way.

Media Recommendations:
Sometimes I like to play video games, even if I'm not very good at them. The main games I play right now are TF2, HOI4, ETS2, and Minecraft. My favourite standalone game of all time is probably Mount & Blade: Warband. If you're into medieval RPGs with realistic combat systems, than that would be a high recommendation if you haven't played it yet. Mount & Blade: Warband does have a successor, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord (M&B2) but I have not put a significant amount of time into it as my graphics card struggles with that game. Another game (although not a standalone one) is Dwarves vs Zombies (DvZ), a Minecraft minigame. DvZ comes in many different iterations, with some of them being more focused on being a game and some of them more focused on roleplay which I like all equally. Lords of Minecraft (LoM) is the twin sister to DvZ, which is completely focused on roleplay.
If I were to rate my top 5 games, it would probably be:
- Dwarves vs Zombies
- Mount & Blade: Warband
- Minecraft (More broadly)
- XBill
- Hearts of Iron IV
I like music from a variety of artists so saying my favourite is hard, but right now I'd say Inabakumori is probably my favourite. I absolutely love them and as you might be able to tell much of my site and social media profiles are themed around Inabakumori. Lonliness of Spring is probably my favourite song from them at this time (although there's alot of good ones) and is also where my current profile picture is from on many of my social medias. The first song I've ever listened to from them was Anticyclone in 2019, and it holds a special place in my heart and probably ties with Lonliness of Spring overall.
Screenshot from Lagtrain, Inabakumori's most popular song to date.
I've also listened to some Hatsune Miku and Kaai Yuki, although I can't really pin any favourites from them. Switching genres entirely, some other artists that I absolutely adore are Peete Seeger and Billy Bragg and naming a favourite song from them is honestly quite challenging since they're all so good. My favourite song of all time is probably the Internationale and I consider it as my personal anthem. As far as generes go, you can probably already guess Vocaloid and Folk, but I also like classical music, military marches, left-wing political music (which Billy Bragg and Pete Seeger have done much of), and some breakcore.
Sometimes I do like to watch anime when I'm feeling in the mood to watch an actual series. I don't watch anime as much today as I have in the past, but here's a (incomplete) list of anime that I've watched, enjoyed, and recommend:
- Lycoris Recoil
- Madoka Magica
- Re:Zero
- Serial Experiments Lain
As far as things such as movies and TV shows go, I don't watch very many of them so I can't really name favourites. Our family watched The Simpsons quite a bit growing up and I still have fond memories of it.

Core Values:
Please keep in mind that my mind is already pretty set on these issues, and I am generally not willing to debate these any longer. If my support for anything below renders you unfriendly to me, it's best we end things off here.
Anti-Capitalism:
I am a Communist and I believe that one of the greatest and most powerful evils on the planet right now is capitalism. I am a strong believer in left-wing unity, and my support goes to any party or organization who threatens capital, and comes closest to overthrowing it. I believe left-wing unity is important as much of the western world (such as Italy and the USA) have slipped into far-right governments and the last thing leftists should be doing is fighting with eachother, and instead fighting to overthrow capitalism together, with internal squabbles among the left best left when the death of capitalism has occured or at least imminent. My support also goes to any organization that provides tangible material benefit to their community, such as anti-capitalist mutual aid networks.
Free Software:
I believe free (as in freedom) software is very important issue considering the digital age that we are now in. Everyday, millions if not billions of people use software without understanding how it was made. Free software puts power in your hands to do what you would please with such software. Nonfree software puts power in the hands of corporations and executives who chase profit at the expense of software usability and user freedom. Free software not only treats their users better, but is often more secure as there will be many more eyes on the code - including testing it for potential vunerabilities. I also believe it's important for free software projects to remain as independent as possible, as free software under coprorate control tends to become less free overtime, sometimes leading to the software becoming proprietary entirely.
Internationalism:
When you look at a photo of earth from space, do you see any borders? We as society should work towards the goal of a united earth. Right now it might seem as a far-fetch, but 400 years ago the concept of nationalism was just as if not more foreign than the concept of internationalism is today. Nationalism has played it's purpose of encouraging the industrial revolutions, but has now stuck well past it's prime. Nationalism has been the cause of many conflicts, annd in the 1920s has reared it's most ugly head in Italy, and in the 1930s with Germany and Spain. I do believe it is important to make a distinction between nationalism of the oppressor (such as American, Italian, Israeli, Turkish, ect) and nationalism of the oppressed (Palestinian, Irish, Kurdish, Catalonian, ect) as nationalism of the oppressed usually come at direct odds with nationalism of the oppressor and is usually liberatory rather than oppressive in it's aims. With that being said, a united earth would not get rid of nations and/or national identity entirely, just like how nations have not gotten rid of city or neighbourhood identity. A United earth would have respect for all people of all nations, without the oppressive structures upheld by nationalism. It will be impossible to completely eliminate nationalism without eliminating capitalism, as capitalism uses nationalism as a tool to enrich the capitalist class.
Intersectionalism:
Nobody is free until everybody is free. True emancipation can only come for one group with the emancipation of everyone else. The struggle that working class folk, BIPOC people, trans & nonbinary people, disabled people, are all one in the same fight. Along with one of my major values (anti-capitalism), true freedom for any group cannot come while capitalism stands as a barrier in the way. While socialism, communism, and anarchism won't magically eliminate societal bigotry should they take power, they can allow us to progress to true freedom without societal and systemic bigotry in a way that will be impossible to do under capitalism. We must eliminate all forms of societal bigtory before we can truely progress as humanity.
