China Airlines (CAL; Chinese: 中華航空; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Hángkōng; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tiong-hôa Hâng-khong) is the state-owned flag carrier of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It is one of Taiwan's three major airlines, along with EVA Air and Starlux Airlines. It is headquartered in Taoyuan International Airport and operates over 1,400 flights weekly – including 91 pure cargo flights – to 102 cities across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.

The older livery of China Airlines would feature the ROC flag until 1995, prior to the handover of Hong Kong. It was replaced with a Plum Blossom which is the national flower of Taiwan, allowing the airline to operate flights to Hong Kong without causing diplomatic disputes.

In the present day to the less informed people, many would assume due to the name it would be a Mainland Chinese airline. There were discussions and partitions to change the airline name, but critics said the name would lead to the airline losing its international flight routes. The confusion would continue in 2020 during the pandemic in which the airline delivering medical equipments and masks were mistaken for donations from Beijing. To avoid causing more confusion, Taiwan has now started adding its national flag on the pallets of medical supplies to be flown by China Airlines, the island’s national carrier, to other countries.
