1) Personally I think it would do Dipper good to cool it on the romance front for a while. His thing with Wendy was A lot. And Pacifica is the only friend Dipper made in Gravity Falls his own age. (I count Candy and Grenda more of Mabels friends). I feel like he should get to have just a friend. (And yknow- a girl-friend who is not a girlfriend)

2) In return- it seems like Dipper would be considered by Pacifica as her first real friend in Gravity Falls. Again, I think it would be good for her to have just a friend.

3) I think it’s funny that Mabel did all the things that Dipper did with Pacifica but First™

Mid-teenage Stan and Ford are the ones getting scolded. Ford looks at Stan uncomfortably. Stan angrily looks at the ground. Their father continues: "And that means no more calling each other that around town or at home either! I know you two knuckleheads think it's some kind of funny, but it isn't! What kinda freak daughters do you want people to think I'm raising here?"ALT
Later, Ford and Stan are in their room. Ford is folding a shirt and Stan is laying on the floor playing paddle ball. Ford looks over to Stan and asks "Do you really think people will stop calling us Stan and Ford at this point?" Stan angrily replies "Not if I got something to say about it."ALT
Ford turns to Stan to say "...But Dad said-" Stan sits up, which sends his paddleball flailing in the air, and cuts Ford off, yelling "Dad gave us those freakin names! He was proud of Stan and Ford! Why's that gotta change now?"ALT
Ford looking concerned starts to explain "I'm not happy about it either but- We're getting older, Stanley. We're not gonna be able to keep getting away with it anymore."ALT
He clutches his arm defensively and looks away while he continues "More and more people- Maybe even mom and dad are gonna start thinking we're..." From off screen, Stan yells "Well maybe we are!"ALT
Ford looks both shocked and angry. His grip on his arm becomes more intense.ALT
Ford angrily says "What are you suggesting?" Stan replies "You heard me."ALT
Ford backs away from Stan, still gripping his arm tightly. He angrily says "Stop it. I know you're upset, but you don't know what you're saying right now." Stan angrily steps toward Ford and says "Prove me wrong then, smartass. If you really don't think that we are Ford and Stan then start calling me by my name. My 'real' name."ALT

I think they both just want to be wanted.

And I think they each know one thing the other doesn’t, and it effects how they interact with the world.

I think Stanley understands that he deserves to be loved (though he doesnt get enough of it). I don’t think Ford understands that about himself.

And I think Stanford understands that he has worth and can add great things to the world (though eventually it becomes saving the world from his mistake). And Stan doesnt feel he’s worth much of anything.

And they’re both very deeply lonely…

And all of this can make them act like real assholes sometimes. But at the end of the day they’re both good men trying their best.

I had a LOT typed out originally, but it was quickly turning into an 80 paragraph essay, so I’m just gonna leave it here.

To elaborate just a teeeeeensy bit… about the love thing, cause I think the ‘worth’ one is more obvious.

Stan is always reaching out for love (Continually trying to impress Filbrick even after being kicked out, making ‘friends’ in prison, marrying a waitress he hardly knew, calling Stanford (though he hung up), dedicating his life to get back Ford, re-instituting contact from his family after obtaining Stanford’s identity, taking Soos under his wing, inviting in the twins…)

Ford isolates. He only thinks he’s worthy of having a loved one around when trying to do something with a higher purpose (Not befriending any of the townsfolk, not thinking to call Fiddleford before the portal, despite the joy we see his company brings him. Feeling like Bill is a “friend” despite Bill seemingly only ever discussing the portal project with him. Only reaching out to Stan when the entire world is in danger even though we knew he thought about him and missed him, hiding away in the basement upon his return)

actually thats been a problem for me recently too. I cant take screenshots of streaming services anymore. I’ve heard some people have luck with screenshotting in firefox (but i use firefox and have had no such luck- so i guess it varies)

if you use websites where they would not have a reason to care about copyright you might have better luck… (Like, that last screenshot i just posted was on youtube). If im desperate enough sometimes i’ll take a pic of my computer screen with my phone lol

There’s references to it but he’s not going to come out to the player or anything. (So no, there’s no chance for the player to potentially come out either).

Most of it is just small “if you know you know” things. No effect on the story.

His researcher outfit and his gym clothes.

This outfit also won a poll for “what should Ford wear in the game” several years ago, so it’s going to make an appearance too. (Outside of the first “game-over” screen where it already appears.)

And there will be… small times. Where he will wear different things. But it won’t be long stretches of dialogue with lots of sprites.

Aside from that he’s just going to keep his trenchcoat outfit most of the time though, yeah.

Its just meant to be poking at the fact that he’s standing away from everyone and reading as opposed to playing at the table at the start of the comic
