honestly based on the track that the show was taking you’d think helping Pacifica out with her controlling (abusive) parents wouldve at least INVOLVED Mabel. instead of her getting shafted into an out of character “silly girls always fighting over boys” b plot.

Yknow back when I did that tierlist of GF episodes I think I gave Fight Fighters an ‘eh’ but upon further randomly thinking about it I would definitely move it into the dislike category
plus its important to remember Ford is narrating that story, and both the grunkles still seem to hold some kind of reverence for their dad despite everything he did
so you can read that bit of lost legends less as “Filbrick was not so bad” and more of “Ford remembers Filbrick as not so bad”
despite it being clearly juxtaposed with being grounded for 3 months over practically nothing.

I wouldnt say so. I mean, even within the story the boys still end up grounded for the entire summer.
Which despite the “oh he was possibly proud of stan for half a second” I’d stay still spells out “Filbrick is an asshole”

Stan and Mabel have a rather special relationship, especially after Not What he Seems, and the idea that 1) he couldnt pick out an obvious fake of her and 2) that FORD CAN when Stan can’t actually genuinely pissed me off when i read this story
(not to mention… hes a conman. A conman cant spot a con? Cmon)

Just a personal opinion but to me the only one worth reading was the last story in the book, “The Jersey Devil’s in the Details”
the rest was just not for me
