The White Houses - Ww2 Weapons Testing Sites
The four towers are not to be found in Rechlin, as the name suggests, but are about 7km as the crow flies west of the village deep in the forest. The 20 meter high, four-story reinforced concrete buildings (1940s) were used to test the effects of bombs and to improve reinforcements and building materials. The name "White Houses" goes back to the bright clinker brick facades that once covered the buildings.
