giapha-os is an open-source app for managing your family tree. It gives you an easy way to see family relationships, manage family members, and search or filter through the list.

giapha-os helps you build and view your family tree on your Windows computer. You can:

• See visual diagrams of family connections.
• Add, edit, or remove family members.
• Search by name or other details.
• Filter members by their generation or relation.

This app works offline after download. It stores your data on your computer to keep your information private.

Make sure your Windows computer meets these requirements before installing:

• Operating System: Windows 10 or later
• Memory: At least 4 GB RAM
• Storage: 200 MB of free disk space
• Processor: 1.5 GHz or faster, 64-bit
• Display: 1024 x 768 screen resolution or higher

You do not need internet to run giapha-os after installation.

To use giapha-os, you need to download the app and install it on your Windows computer. Follow these steps:

1. Click the big Download badge at the top or visit this page to download giapha-os.
2. On that page, look for the Releases section.
3. Find the latest version of the app. Typically, it is a file ending with .exe for Windows.
4. Click the .exe file link to download it to your computer.

• Find the latest .exe file under Releases or Assets.

• Click the file name. Your browser will start downloading the file.

• Once the download is complete, find the .exe file in your Downloads folder.

• Double-click the .exe file to start the installer.

• If Windows shows a security warning, click Run or Yes to proceed.

• Follow the installer prompts:

  • Choose the installation folder if asked, or use the default.
  • Click Next or Install to continue.

• When the installation finishes, click Finish to close the installer.

• After installation, find the giapha-os icon on your desktop or start menu.

• Double-click the icon to open the app.

• The app will open the main window with options to view or create your family tree.

• You can start adding family members by clicking the Add Member button.

Here is how to use the main features:

• The main screen shows a visual tree diagram.

• Each member is a box connected to others showing relationships.

• Click Add Member.

• Enter details like name, birthdate, and relation.

• Save the member to add them to the tree.

• Right-click a member's box or select a member from the list.

• Choose Edit to change their information.

• Choose Remove to delete the member.

• Use the search bar at the top to enter a name.

• Use filters to show members by generation or branch.

• Check the GitHub page regularly for new releases.

• Download the new .exe installer from the releases.

• Run the installer to update your current version.

• Your data will stay intact after updating.

If you have issues running or installing giapha-os:

• Ensure your Windows version is 10 or above.

• Make sure the installer file completely downloaded.

• Run the installer as an administrator by right-clicking it and selecting Run as administrator.

• Close other programs if the installer or app runs slowly.

• Check the GitHub Issues section for similar problems or support.
