Me personally, I can’t help but picture Azure Moon’s finale when I hear this song. What about everyone else?

CF. It's a triumphant rendition of Edelgard's theme which...makes no sense in AM.

I had to look up the song to recognize it (as I don't normally pay attention to song names). But when I did, I immediately connected it to Azure Moon Ch 22 battle prep. There, the song starts playing as soon as the Hegemon Edelgard scene fades out and transition into the battle prep (showing you the map and what you are going up against) and continues to play throughout the chapter.

I didn't even notice The Apex of the World playing in CF Ch 18 since it doesn't start playing until after the battle starts. There is a totally different song playing beforehand from battle prep and scenes before, and when the battle does starts you have 45-60 seconds of dialogue screening the intro to The Apex of the World. By then, there was too much stuff going on that I didn't catch what song was playing.

Edge of Dawn is Edelgard's song and Apex of the World is a rendition of that mixed with Sothis' theme; it symbolizes Byleth and Edelgard joining hands.
Nothing is immutable. Everything that is exists only in relation to everything that isn't. There is no constant. There is no center.

AM and CF are two most Edelgard-centric routes. She loses all story relevance once you hit the timeskip on SS, and on VW she barely exists. It makes sense that both routes would have a battle version of her theme as the final map's theme. Imo the song works for both, it just emphasizes different things depending on the route: her finally reaching her goals in CF, making all her sacrifices worth something in the end, or her tragic failure and impending reckoning at Dimitri's hands and how she's still going to fight to the end in AM.

Both of these.

Edelgard's song seems more appropriate for Edelgard's route than a route she's barely present in.

Definitely Azure Moon. Because this final boss theme is a rendition of "Edge of Dawn", focusing on Edelgard (and she is the final boss of AM), so it makes more sense to invoke that route a lot more.
Unapologetic Gundam-enjoyer since 1997. (Currently hooked on Metroid Prime Remastered)

Sothis's theme is mixed into Apex of the World, making it far more fitting for the final battle in Crimson Flower.

I couldn't even hum a measure of it so idc. I remember none of this game's music.
