Had the great pleasure of working on Tarabu Betserai Kirkland's #documentary #film #100YearsfromMississippi on the life of his extraordinary mother, Mamie Kirkland. I literally stepped into her shoes, and as I reenacted a phase of her journey, I felt her #determination, #perserverance, the haunting memories she'd walk past, the reasons that gave her #purpose... all the while Mamie, 109 years old, watched from the porch, present to oversee the shoot. I got to spend some time chatting with her and enjoying her joyful and prayerful spirit.
