Starman3 (known as SM3) is a YouTuber as well as a former Super Mario 64 and Roblox machinimist that made reoccurring appearances in the SMG4 series. He was one of the YouTubers who appeared the most, behind XboxFan997, FightingMario54321, and SMG4 himself. Starman3 was a notable ally of SMG4 and Mario throughout the earlier seasons. He appeared a lot in Season 2, but he started to decrease in appearances in Season 3, before completely disappearing just before the beginning of Season 4. He would start making brief appearances again sporadically from Season 4 to Season 6.

Powers and Abilities

Starman3 has star powers, hence his name. He himself mentioned said powers in the blooper, "The Imposter", in which he tried to assist SMG4 in defeating the Imposter, but SMG4's own distractions instead just hits him, before landing onto XFireLuigi600x who gets high and falls off a cliff.

He can shoot powerful yellow energy balls that can easily kill someone, although it does no effect to the monster.

He's also able to shoot fireballs as he shoots one directly at SMG3 and his mech. It's powerful enough for the mech to be destroyed as SMG3 flies to the sky.

Personality

Starman3 appears to be fair and honest. Trying to stop ridiculous fights and wanting the best out of everyone. He appears to listen to others when he trusts them enough that they're speaking the truth, such as listening to SMG4 when he learned about SMG3's evil doings. He also feels bad when he upsets someone, trying to cheer them up. He also was willing to convince a Toad to not kill himself as he cares too much about people.

He's able to figure out any of the conflicts that may occur. One time was when he learned that an an imposter is out to kill around Peach's Castle. He also noticed that when Xboxfan997 started acting crazy and predicting a bad future meant that incoming threat's about to occur. He also realized that SMG4 was missing, who never showed up at the door for a surprise party Starman3 set up. He's also good at aiming, such as shooting down his threats like the Creeper Soldier with a pistol and SMG3's mech with the usage of a fireball. He also was able to aim his Star Powers at SMG4, but SMG4's own distraction caused the plan to fail.

He usually dislikes craziness such as Mario's stupidity, and Toad freaking people out. His dislike for craziness is why he refused to let Mario into the YouTube Rangers. He also could not stand Slenderman's behavior due to his strange behaviors as well as killing two people, it got to a point that he briefly joined the police to get rid of him. He also was scared by the amount of people annoying him as he was taking a shower.

Although, he sometimes joins said craziness, willing to laugh with SMG4 when he threw the monster's heart on the ground, as well as going with Mario's plan to have SMG3 get raped by Notch. He also enjoyed jumping and causing a mess of multiple chairs at a store filled with computers, and rode a baby penguin for the fun of it.

He also refuses to be in odd-ball scenarios, usually avoiding to go through portals taking him to different dimensions, and when he does, he grows impatient, hoping to get out of said situation. His impatience with things is why he struggles to get through things such as a game of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, made worse through Mario's incompetence.

While he's mostly brave against strong monsters and other foes, trying to go with the best of knowledge and powers against said threats. He can get frightened easily such as when he briefly saw Mario and Roprinplup14 pop up for a second, causing him to freak out before punching them.

He doesn't like to be left out or get ignored, In Super Mario 64 Bloopers: §§ënmØÐnÅr 2 (100th vid), he sees MarioMario54321 and tries to start a conversation, but MarioMario54321 gets attacked by the Mad Piano, crying for help, but Starman3 is saddened by how he's ignoring him in favor of playing the piano. In WOTFI 2012, where he wanted to join the game show Mario and SMG4 were forced to participate in through Nintendofan997 and was saddened that he wasn't shot and killed with the other two.

Trivia

  • As he started making frequent appearances throughout 2012 after "The Warrior and the Hobo", many other machinimists who were previously established as major characters pushed aside and relegated to only mere cameos. Although part of this also had to due with Luke struggling to give said characters anything to do, instead preferring a dynamic of two and three characters at most.
  • Much of Starman3's voice clips originated from his own content, voicing himself.
  • He is the leader of the YouTube Rangers, a group of Super Mario 64 Machinima makers, indie game developers, musicians, gamers, and an array of mere content consumers.
  • Starman3's newer color code is likely based on the color skin for Player 3 in the minigame "Mario Bros. Battle" in the Super Mario Advance series.
    • He has an older color code, consisting of an orange cap and shirt, yellow hair and pants, gray shoes and very bright white gloves. It was never used in the SMG4 series. Starman3 himself has grown to despise said recolor over the years.
  • His YouTube username is "starman3", without the uppercase S. However, this uppercase is used on his YouTube icon.
  • He was nominated by SMG4 to do the Ice Bucket Challenge via the description alongside MarioMario54321, both never did so.
  • Starman3's disappearance from the SMG4 series, unlike most Mario-recolors, is also due to the controversy behind the scenes regarding Jacob Leonard Ware's insistence on Luke Lerdwichagul adding his persona and making said persona look more heroic, as stated by Cube and other former YouTube Rangers members.[2]
  • He was mistakenly believed to have appeared in SMG4 Movie: 10 Year Anniversary Special when the cast was fighting through brainwashed recolored Marios, however, FightingMario54321 later confirmed that it was not Starman3, and the lighting in the scene just made the zombie GoldMario5 look identical to him.[3]
