One year ago today was the day before I left for Europe. It was a Sunday, and I had some goodbyes to make at church and after church. It wasn’t an easy day and I came home exhausted and anxious about what the next five months would bring. Rummaging around in my bag for my phone, I realized that it had fallen between the pages of my Bible. I retrieved the two from my bag, upset about the bent pages but immediately softening after seeing what my phone had bookmarked. My eyes fell immediately on the verse. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 It reminded me of this… He knows exactly what we need to hear, and when. Before you grumble about your situation and get cranky about your bent pages, stop and listen. Ask yourself, “what does God want me to know in this moment?” He will show us if we listen.
